KJ Noons kicked his butt? Lol it got stopped for a cut... Do you remember the fight or just looking at the record?

Got to the UFC, whooped BJ's ass, got his shot at Georges, Georges pulled. Fought Condit, one of the more controversial decisions of the last few years. "Running Man" won a decision but did zero damage. And GSP won by typical GSP lay-and-pray. Fights Anderson Silva, Anderson refuses to engage and wins a boring decision by landing more jabs. Again, no damage.

The fact that you don't respect Paul Daley is very telling.

My question was would you rather watch the crisp volume boxing of Diaz or GSP hit a takedown on someone and lay in their guard cutting them with short elbows? This game isn't about belts.

You got me, it was a slight troll job to see how much of his early career you were familiar with :). Point remains, let's say he beats Noon senseless both times. Sweet, that doesn't mean anything. He went years without fighting ANYONE, just stacking wins calling himself the best, it's actually pretty funny.

Paul Daley is a nice fighter, that's about it. You don't put Paul Daley at the top of your resume if your worth shit.

BJ was old and tired, fighting off name. The Daley win was more impressive even though, in the grand scheme of things, it means very little.

Condit beat up Diaz just as bad, my friend. He crushed Nick's face with knees, elbows, punches etc. I will admit it was a very close fight. Diaz best fight was probably a close contest with Condit. Again, not the resume of a really good fighter. I'm not sayin he's terrible, but he's certainly overrated himself by fighting chumps for a large portion of his career and then never beating anyone worth a crap after. His career is based off of not being able to win big fights against top tier opponent, for the most part. And beating up legends that turned into grandpas before they fought. I mean, he still had plenty of fights left in him and fought Ken Shamrock. C'mon, top tier fighters aren't fighting the Ken Shamrocks of the world.

Will forever be a second tier fighter

I'd rather watch GSP. Class act.

GSP is Notre Dame and Diaz is "the U".

Accept they actually won something but it makes sense to me.

I COMPLETELY get why people don't like the Diaz brothers (and Conor) but they are as tough as they come. I feel that if MMA fights were to just go until someone gets finished that the Diaz brothers might just be champions. They never tire out, they rarely get rocked on the feet and very rarely are they out done on the mat. Their weakness is wrestling and that's why they lose decisions most of the time. But no wrestler ever looks comfortable once they take them down. It's like they're just trying to stay out of trouble until they get saved by the bell. The Diaz bros have some of the most active and effective guards in the business.

I typically CAN NOT stand trash talkers or athletes that use the antics that Diaz or McGregor do but I like both of them for some strange reason and I don't want either one to lose. Really weird fight for me. But I guess I'm kind of rooting for Conor because I feel like we could be watching something special if he moves up and competes for the lightweight belt like he was supposed to against RDA. If he loses...all that goes away. And I usually root for guys that move up in weight.

And for anyone trashing Nick Diaz...don't forget that he knocked the current welterweight kingpin out.

Lol at "crushed his face". He had a black eye on the right eye the same as every single one of his fights from pre-existing scar tissue damage.

Look at him after any fight, he looks the same.

He knocked out the current Welterweight Champ, Finished Takanori Gomi who was the PRIDE Champ at the time, Finished Sakurai (if you discredit this win, you have to discredit Matt Hughes who defended his title against him).

His style of fighting is much more suitable for PRIDE where fights were judged as an entire fight rather than 10 point must system, and there was yellow cards for stalling so people like GSP would be forced to pass the guard rather than sit in the guard and throw short elbows(which weren't allowed). As someone else mentioned, if it was a fight till there's a winner, he could be the best of all time.

Not to mention he was a tall, skinny, boxer who fought the prime of his career in a time where steroids and PED's were rampant in MMA. GSP was overweight for their fight, Anderson was on the sauce.

Fuck Conor for that shit he pulled at the press conference. Causing some drama at the press conference to sell the fight is one thing, maybe even a shoving match, but a full force left hook to someone's closed fist is about as bad a cheap shot you can take on someone 48 hours before a fight.

Nate wont roll over like past opponents and Conor cant handle that.

Don't watch UFC much. I did make an effort to watch McGregor's last bout...all 13 seconds of it. He's my boy. What does he say, "I don't talk trash I just tell them the truth" or something like that? He's also literally the same size as me, 5 foot 9, walking weight of 170.

I'll root for him until he gives me a reason not to(PEDs).

Seriously? Slow the video down. Youtube allows you to slow it down to .25

There is a lot of speculation going around right now that the hand is injured cause you can see Nate holding it at the end of the video.

Bruh, this sells fights and boosts PPV numbers. I bet after the fight they will be all buddy buddy after. Publicity stunt to pique interest.

I think McGregor respects Diaz for taking the fight and for his attempts at trash talking. They are very alike in many ways but Conor is superior

This McGregor guy knows how to sell a fight. More PPV buys means more money for him. I know one thing, all the prefight hype and trash talking is a hell of a lot more entertaining than being respectful and classy.

I like McGregor just from an entertainment standpoint. He is flashy, outspoken and DGAF attitude. Very entertaining outside of fighting. For some reason, his accent adds to the delivery when he talks shit too. I dunno if it's me but his accent just sounds right when talking shit.

Well, he's a Diaz brother. He needs some pre-built in excuse for losing.

Yeah if its a guy from the British Isles talking madness, I love it.

I think it's fair to say he's gotten a bit better now. I understand not liking Conor, but this is really old. He has been dominant in the UFC and while his BJJ hasn't been tested, he did well enough against Chad on the ground. He was taken down, but it's Mendez, it's what he does. He sprawled and defended some, and escaped when Chad did get him down.

This fight is going to be a nice slugfest. It's a shame RDA got hurt, and say what you want about Conor, he fights. He gives fans what they want and he doesn't back down. There are a lot of reasons to dislike him, I get that, but he is an entertainer, and he's doing a fantastic job. His gates and numbers are through the roof. Give him some credit for pleasing the fans.

Of course he's better now. I always root for the Americans. I'm kinda simple like that.

I'm in the same boat. I love Conor because of his style, but I had to cheer for Mendez and now Diaz. I like when he fights Brazilians because then I can support him. I can't bring myself to root against my countrymen.

I typed the same thing but I didn't want to hear a xenophobic rant from one of the many bleeding heart progressive apologists that frequent this site... so I erased it.

I have no problem rooting against countrymen in professional sports. Olympics though, America!!!

I love America and I don't care what anyone on this site thinks about it. "Loyalty to country, always. Loyalty to the government when it deserves it." I think we could use some nationalism at this point in time.

Countrymen?

Those from the United States or from Mexico heritage-wise?

I don't care where they come from. It's the only country on Earth where you can just come and become a member of society, and I think that's important. Obviously I favor doing it legally, but I think more importantly is the desire to assimilate, join, and become American. Renouncing any previous loyalties and becoming a freedom loving communist hater.

I understand that. Nothing wrong with it I just feel guilty doing so. As a result, I cheer for Americans.

Ireland is not a British Isle.

It's not a British isle but it is part of the British Isles.

You can sell the fight without throwing a punch. That could have easily been an injury. If you're in it for a "publicity stunt" you'd go with a push.

Not everything is the WWE.

This was not a politically charged question. I say wtf I mean, and I mean wtf I say.

So American is your pull?

Or Mexico? I get they are Americans now holy shit.
