Seems like he nominated Vance to appease the “Project 2025” / social conservative crowd with Trump himself looking for broader appeal and to focus on what he wants / not what the handlers want. But picking Vance — who has all the ties to Thiel and Silicon Valley — ensures that $$ is going to flow AND that people focused on the “social” issues can look ahead to 2028 + know that Trump will continue to get them judges.

That’s the other thing. At the end of the day nobody really cares… if I were to write a book about my experiences with trauma and my experiences in social work it would be titled “Nobody cares about your problems”. Like I said, people do it to feel better about or even validate their own issues.

I don't understand what the point is of him not running but staying in the Oval office at this point. Some think by letting Kamala take the L, they can move on from her in 2028.

I don't understand what the point is of him not running but staying in the Oval office at this point. Some think by letting Kamala take the L, they can move on from her in 2028.

They would almost have to let Kamala take the L unless their choice was Michael Obama or someone else with brown skin. Bypassing their token pick for VP wouldn’t be a good look for their black/brown demo… unless of course they ran on writing checks/handouts or ran on reparations that they would inevitably not deliver on.

Anybody is probably a bigger threat at this point. Kamala might be a tossup. Newsome seems to be the popular replacement, but there's people pushing the Michelle Obama angle, maybe VP? She'd pull in some votes.

The one poll I heard reference Michelle Obama had her winning by double digits.
