What I saw on 1/6 doesn't come close to the federal courthouse being burned down in Portland. Both groups who violated the law should be prosecuted as such, but there's a wide gap between those two.
The same people who want to make the embarrassment of a bunch of morons dancing on tables and waving flags into the darkest moment in national history are the same ones who celebrate those who literally bombed the same exact building,… forgive me if I don’t take them serious

If trump is responsible for Jan 6, most democrats are responsible cities burning all across America in 2020. I would never condone rioting but at least the right went after their perceived enemy (government) while the other fought government by pillaging black owned small businesses and CVS.
I think you just condoned rioting.

I am saying if you are mad at your dad and slap your child you are taking it out on the wrong person. If you are mad at your dad and slap your dad you took your anger out on the person you were mad at.

Nowhere in the above statement did I condone slapping your child or dad... just like I never condoned rioting small businesses or CVS or the Capitol building.

Looting a drug store and a violent coup to overthrow the government …. Same thing? If the one guy at the center of the coup is wrong than “most democrats” are to blame for some asshole burning a building during a riot. You get how that makes no sense, right?

So we are moving the goalposts. I obviously didn’t condone any riot so you back off that and now you want to argue if “a drugstore” is equivalent to Jan 6. You’re obviously not even trying to argue in good faith. There was obviously more than “a drugstore”. You get how you just lost all credibility, right?

Lol what was the premise of the rioting on Jan 6? Oh that's right... They were trying to overturn the U.S. Presidential election based off of Donald's absolute false claim that the election was stolen from him.
Carry on.

Nothing screams insurrection like a bunch of unarmed protesters running around the Capitol like first graders

Nothing screams insurrection like a bunch of unarmed protesters running around the Capitol like first graders at recess.
Tell that to the people and Police who were killed or injured that day. Normalizing insanity is falling in line with the tribe.

Just so we are in the same page…….there were 7 people that died as the result of the January 6th riot. Four were protesters (1 shot by police, 1 died from heart attack, 1 died of a stroke and 1 died from being trampled on) and three were police officers (1 was injured during the riot and died the next day, the other two committed suicide). IMO, this was a protest that turned south which resulted in property damage, injury and loss of life. Over the past 2 or 3 years, we have seen quite a large number of protests that have gone south for one reason or another which resulted in tremendous property damage, bodily injury and loss of life. We shouldn’t be normalizing any of it, right?

YOU mentioned looting of a CVS as if it was the same thing as the goober Brownshirts trying to stop Congress from counting votes. The goal posts are still in the same place. You are at the wrong field.

I did. I assumed we were all smart enough or at least not that far gone brainwashed to know I was talking about more than just a CVS. At the time I didn’t think someone would foolishly call me out for condoning riots then backtrack and find some other “gotcha”. You obviously just want to win an argument as opposed to have one.

If you want to blame a premise I will lay burned city blocks, federal buildings, small business, overrun police departments, more deaths than Jan 6th onto the feet of the Democratic Party.

*edit - And one CVS since that’s all GoIrish41 wants to talk about.

No police or people were killed that day other than Babbitt who was shot by police. The rest died of natural causes or later suicide.
The Juneteenth participants three days ago were more deadly than the protesters on Jan 6th.

A few of you were quite silent when you had a chance to condemn your own side for burning Federal buildings, police stations, private businesses, rioting, looting, and assaulting homeowners, innocent bystanders, trying to blind police with lasers, or just beating old people who were trying to protect their business. Those were "mostly peaceful protests" we were told by you and the press and not anything to be bothered by. Yet now you're calling a riot by a handful of unarmed idiots and hooligans a "violent attempt to overthrow the government." See why the rest of us laugh at your hyperbole and exaggeration and hypocrisy?

People are wasting their time with a show trial? USA Today said even among Independents only 58% think the committee is fair and non-partisan, not a strong consensus, but among everyone polled only 9% of the people are actually following the trial closely. The rest were barely following it or not at all. It's unlikely anything is going to actually happen as a result of this trial other than the Democrats trying to sway the next election.

I didn't normalize any of it. It was disgusting and the violators should be prosecuted, or did you ignore that like all the BLM and Antifa riots that led to properties being destroyed, people getting hurt, and officers being killed? Where is your empathy for Officer David Dorn in Saint Louis?

I'll reiterate my original point: this was no coup or insurrection to overthrow the US government. A group of unarmed, whackjob protesters broke into the Capitol, which is child's play in comparison to a federal courthouse being set on fire. But to hear leftists describe the day it was cut from the scene of the movie White House Down and "our democracy was threatened!!!!"
