My boy Bluto grew up in Arkansas but a head banging injury made him mistake it for SOCal,... all these Nazis and Skin Head murderers that were apparently in plain sight could have honestly come in handy when I was getting jumped on the weekly for being white (or anything but Hispanic honestly the Asian and Black kids had it just as bad) in the area I grew up in lol. By their own admission the Proud Boys are a “Western chauvinist” organization. Now, what do the mean by “western”? That reads to me as meaning “European”. There's racism in every ethnic group or culture I've ever had exposure to. In my time in Jersey managing a large org of predominantly one ethnic group, I can vouch for the study below. Every study though I've ever seen/read, has the US in the least racist category. Some of the narratives out there today are a bit lol, and I'd love to send a lot of those folks abroad for a year to see if their opinions change.

You didn’t go to punk and hardcore shows in the 80’s and early 90’s would be my guess. I used to go see shows in LA and the Bay Area all the time. Nazi skinheads were a regular staple at shows all over California.There was a big skinhead gang called BASH (Bay Area Skinheads) that used to run around the upper Height in SF beating people up and gay bashing. I went to see Jawbreaker of all bands in Oxnard in 93 and some people told the black dude I was with named Miles that he needed to leave if he didn’t want to get jumped. Google Bob Heick. Or how about the Jewish Day School shooting in 99?

One answer to question 1 would be that said western countries have completely exploited, dominated and fucked up the countries people are immigrating from.

There is racism/ bigotry in just about every culture. If you are advocating for the primacy of European culture it sure seems like you are advocating for the primacy of “white” people.

Now, I don’t believe in race unfortunately it is a false construct that we have saddled ourselves with.

Not sure that all people holding onto Euro culture, are advocating for anything to do with race. You'd have to apply what you call a false construct to that equation. To me, Western Culture is more about democracy, capitalism, and Christianity. Not a color.

I don't think it automatically does, but people do indeed change. I've seen many many folks that I grew up change their views. It's not something like the flip of a switch, but over time. One of the most racist kids I grew up with, ended up in an interracial marriage, and is totally 180 from his early days. Some kids I grew up with, haven't changed a bit.

I sold my other truck when I got out of doing site work in construction and moved more into design and CM and bought a Prius.

Then we decided to do a major remodel (bathroom, garage, pool and deck) and I was like “shit, I need a truck”.

Anyhow, I insisted that my kid learned to drive in the truck. It’s a manual transmission so it was terrifying at first but paid off in the long run. I could send him to go pick up materials while I kept working and it made driving anything else a breeze.
