Why do you say they are a felony? I do not know the law, but I read an article on CNN (the Trump haters they are) even said these bookkeeping errors are charged as misdemeanors. Then went on to say that they may rise to the level of felony if they were done to cover up another crime which they also say a NDA is not. Also mentioned that Cohen is a convicted felon and would be a horrible witness whose own lawyer is on the record stating he has lied to him multiple times. The article also said normally too when people are charged with multiple counts, they will reduce the number way down. Funny Bragg who has reduced 1/2-2/3 felony charges to misdemeanors sounds like he is doing the opposite on Trump.

My thinking is Bragg doesn't care about any of this. He was given orders. Also, Bragg feels there is a good chance a jury of his peers (LOL!!!) full of Trump haters will convict regardless of facts or evidence. The OJ jury!!!!!

I think there is some legal theory that is tying it to a felony. Its my understanding its an untested practice. But yes, Bragg doing mental gymnastics to make this a felony is quite amusing considering his practice is to downgrade felonies as often as possible.

As for the venue of trial, I would think DJT would have a pretty good argument for moving the trial upstate or to Staten Island.

We had a young man get (allegedly) murdered for being gung-ho Republican last fall. They moved the trial. They happened to move it to a much less Republican county. Although they may have just moved it because it would be hard for the guy to get a fair shake in a rural county where everyone knows the victim and the defendant.

There is no indication that these are bookkeeping errors. They were intentional and done to hide the source of the money and defraud the government of taxes. Felonies. Michael Cohen and Weiselbwrg went to jail for these reasons. We will all have to wait to see when the charges are issued publically but all the reporting indicates 30+ charges that some will be felonies.

Gtfoh you know exactly what was meant by that. A defense has as much work to do to fight and show charges are invalid as the prosecution does in charging them in the first place.

If the prosecution presents a voice recording of Trump ordering Cohen to make the payments and they will repay him in ways that defraud the government then the defense has to prove that evidence isn’t valid or take the risk in the jury just siding with the defense for no other reason.

Defense doesn't have to prove shit. They have to just raise reasonable doubt. A defense lawyer can get a not guilty decision by not calling a single witness, even the defendant, but simply poke holes at the prosecutions case. They aren't proving squat. Please use Google. I'm begging you.
