The plane that Qatar is giving to the US was built in Everett, Washington by Boeing
Doomed then. Are ya sure?

Of course. You don't understand the point. If It's an American plane, then what's all the crying for?

Boeing and their failures.
We know that.
Boeing doesn't make gold plated interior planes. Boeing designs the plane, and sells It to Qatar/UAE to make It luxurious and fashionable.
Boeing and there abilty to make anything fly ready has become questionable. Just ask the families of all of the lost souls.
Please.

If that’s your belief, then what do you think about Trump and Hegseth selecting Boeing for the F-47 contract? I mean I voted for the guy. Just not sure where you are coming from at all here.

I think calling Qatar one of our closest allies is like saying Pitt is one of Notre Dame’s biggest rivals
Are you surprised he said that? It's political speak to try and build some relationships. After all, the guy is visiting there and gets a new Air Force 1 that Harrison Ford would envy.

Not even trying to be a dick, but can you think of any actual aspects where rent/price controls have actually been beneficial to the population on whom they were implemented? I’m sure there are some limited good examples, but strict controls have caused mass food shortages, insane wait lists for rental properties/dilapidation of rent controlled units, and huge medicine shortages in Venezuela

Toronto - We have rent controls on units built pre-2018 at 2.5% allowable increase. Works pretty well.

I do? I advocate for higher density housing all the time. I live well. This isn't about me, this is about advocating about those that are less fortunate, nobody should care about anecdotal personal stories and I'm not asking for people to care about me.

If the only way for people to own property is to get married to someone else that's making >100K as well that should be ringing alarm bells.

Poor people have always been shit on and largely left to die forever, with the widening gap between utility provided by workers and wages earned we're going to have more have nots. I prefer we discontinue corporate socialism and bootlicking the corporate overlords that are so gracious to provide such tremendous jobs. Mom and Pops.......well, I don't lose sleep over them closing down shop. If you can't afford to pay staff and fill vacancies then maybe you shouldn't own a business or maybe that business isn't a profitable venture.

"Works pretty well" :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

Anything to offer?
I'm a CPA at a large firm who can't afford to buy a property with more than 1,000 sqft within 30KMs of my firm. No dependents or large debts.

But, if I just worked harder I would have a white picket fence with a luxury car and a two car garage. I can't imagine thinking that the system is working fine and it's just people don't work hard enough.

lmao you really are dumb as fuck eh? That was almost two years ago. Lending rates have dropped consistently since 2023. Market has stabilized. My salary has gone up quite a bit since then, and I am looking to buy a place in the city by the fall. Do you need a lesson in how interest rates work?

"Realities of life" would be.....realities if they bore themselves out in the, you know, data. They don't.

1) Education is the best proxy of intelligence we have available that is tracked with voting intention. So, I know you have vibez and feels but it doesn't really hold water.

2) That's nice. I know a few people who been very successful that didn't go to university. But, you will never be able to argue to a serious person that higher education level does not correlate with higher earnings. It doesn't work.

3) A 5% swing in popular vote would sway the popular vote in all elections post 2000 except for Obama 08. It is quite significant.

4) For sure. The Dem leadership would be smart to embrace them.

5) I agree they should be very concerned with that. You seem to forget or not remember that I've been very critical of the Dem leadership.
There's no need for like, data and charts, to accept the reality that education does not equate to intelligence and sure as hell doesn't equate to financial success.

The second grade teacher with a master's degree doesn't earn more than the electrician.

The boiler room operator (I know one at PECO) makes great money and has no college debt compared to the psychology grad with $80k in student loans working 3 jobs in hospitality.

The US has truck drivers making six figures while the Cultural Studies major can't figure out why their starting salary at age 22 isn't $70k.

I could list dozens more but you should get the point by now and to reiterate what Dakota said, college tuition outside of STEM is losing its luster each year in the marketplace. But hey...there's always Enterprise.

Depends on the school district and years that teacher has in.

Or we can look at Bureau of Labor statistics.

Electricians
Teacher (2nd Grade)

Anecdotal stories =/= data. That's why they do broad studies to take into account edge cases.

This is statistically false.

Keep up, education is the best proxy we have available for intelligence. One of the great things about getting an education, it allowed me to actually study this data and unsurprisingly it hasn't changed in the 12-15 years since I last looked into it. You can thumb your nose at the actual data but you won't be taken seriously in any professional setting if you disregard data to trust your own vibez and feelz. Did you read further into what Dakota was saying or do you just think that because he responded to me that he is in direct opposition to everything I said and you'd like to just side with him because you know he will actually do the heavy lifting for you? He generally agreed with me on the premise that more education leads to more intelligence on average.

This is like being shown pictures of the Earth from the ISS and saying "yaaaaa but like I can't feel the earth spinning".
