There are flags of Trump riding dinosaurs. They have compared Trump to Jesus Christ.
This is above and beyond anything we have seen before.
You comparing this to FDR smoking a cigarette is idiotic.
You have a point, Bua. It's been taken to the next level. I do think anybody comparing him to Christ would have been the same kooks calling Reagan the antichrist.
Do you honestly believe those are the jobs that Trump is referring to???? He wants to tariff those kinds of products.
The jobs that he wants to bring back would be good paying manufacturing jobs such as automobile manufacturing and the like.
Bessent also surmised that the laid off federal workers would take those manufacturing jobs.....before saying he envisioned AI and robotics would do the work. You think high school educated people are going to be hired to work at an auto plant? Those jobs are incredibly competitive and you need to go through some serious schooling/trade schools to get those jobs. Not sure what gives you the faith that he'll reverse course on everything he's both done and said.
His secretary of commerce said as much. I guess you'd want him to maintain Biden levels? He had higher rates of manufacturing growth than Trump did his first go around.

Do you have any idea how FEW of those jobs are actually needed? He also acts like you can just cross train HS graduates who work HVAC jobs to learn robotics repair/engineering/programming. What in the absolute hell are you talking about? He claims the well paid jobs would be the staffing of those manufacturing jobs for those that oversee the automated process.
Is this the same "ZERO" chance that there was of Trump starting this trade war with his tariffs? There's ZERO chance that those types of jobs are coming to America and be staffed with American workers do those types of manual jobs
Ok so what proof have you seen that leads you to believe this? The public statements from his administration and the body of work from his first term aren't even at Biden levels. So I'm having a tough time joining you in this optimistic view.He said he wants to bring those to America and automate them with robotics. I've made it clear I'm no fan of this tariff strategy and there's a lot to complain about, but the meme's showing people working at sewing machines or screwing in screws of iPhones is basically bullshit.
The quote straight from the tweet that you posted "the army of millions and millions of people screwing in little screws to make iPhones, that kind of thing is going to come to America. It's going to be automated" The interviewer confronted him a couple times about robots.Ok so what proof have you seen that leads you to believe this? He's the one saying the screwing in iPhones! There's plenty of meme's in these threads but not mine.
If it could be automated it already would be!The quote straight from the tweet that you posted "the army of millions and millions of people screwing in little screws to make iPhones, that kind of thing is going to come to America. It's going to be automated" The interviewer confronted him a couple times about robots.
I didn't say that you posted any meme's, frankly it's not even important enough to go look at.
All I'm saying is that it's bullshit for people to try to paint these tariff moves bringing low paying jobs from other countries such as textiles and "screwing in tiny screws on iPhones". There's enough stuff in these tariff's that is highly concerning that we don't need to distract from that focus to paint the Trump admin as wanting to bring low paying jobs to America.
Do I believe that the steps that they are taking could pull off the massive construction of factories that they are painting? Of course I'm skeptical.

The Court ruled that their detentions and removal have judicial review protections and the ability to seek habeas relief in the jurisdiction in which they are detained... not in the jurisdiction of a specific DC judge that is going to be most sympathetic to their cause.![]()

In a way the tone is almost as frightening as the substance. The dissent writes like it understands the stakes, and what kind of regime we're on the precipice of becoming. The majority writes like it's hearing a case about whether rollerblades can be taxed as vehicles. [contains quote post or...bsky.app
This is 80% correct, the primary issue is that the tariffs are so clearly batshit that people are terrified that guy in charge is too stupid/insane with too much power to blow stuff up on a whim. Nothing is worse than “uncertainty” for global capital.
Ahh the "no new wars" president.![]()
Trump administration weighs drone strikes on Mexican cartels
The administration has increased surveillance flights over Mexico as it tries to track the powerful cartels that dominate the fentanyl trade.www.nbcnews.com
We'd be talking billions...likely hundreds of billions.to spend millions and millions on moving manufacturing from Asia to the US,
Instead they're being held in states that they weren't arrested in, where the judges will be conservative leaning and won't give two crapsThe Court ruled that their detentions and removal have judicial review protections and the ability to seek habeas relief in the jurisdiction in which they are detained... not in the jurisdiction of a specific DC judge that is going to be most sympathetic to their cause.
I believe we were told they had no due process rights. Weird.Instead they're being held in states that they weren't arrested on, where the judges will be conservative leaning and won't give two craps
And he told us that very confidently. But all 9 supreme Court justices disagree with him. Just regurgitating bs talking points again. It's fucking pathetic. And yet we're the ones who can't think for ourselvesI believe we were told they had no due process rights. Weird.
So it's okay if a liberal judge is presiding, but not a conservative?Instead they're being held in states that they weren't arrested on, where the judges will be conservative leaning and won't give two craps
Did I say that? I simply stated facts about how they are executing this.So it's okay if a liberal judge is presiding, but not a conservative?
