The major problem (IMO) is the extreme power of the Presidency now. The Republican party is essentially whatever Trump feels like doing. I don't remember one person ever having so much sway with their party before. No way these tariffs go through if it was up to Congress, but they've ceded that power to the Presidency. It is crazy how both sides now say "the system" is unfair and needs to be blown up.

Watching an entire political party endorse reparations, but it's just for the uneducated rural midwest who lost their jobs because their lord and savior Ronald Reagan helped the movement of offshoring them is incredible. Gotta bring back those jobs paying $2 an hour in Bangladesh so Cleatus can have the fam put screws in an iPhone. Surely there's entire warehouses sitting around ready to be fitted to handle this perceived inflow of jobs!
