Anyone that escalated past peacefully protesting and caused damaged to property and government buildings should be held responsible. I've stated that in the past consistently. Since January 6th, was against non combatants with a political goal of stopping the certification of the election will you unequivocally state those who participated violently are terrorists?

Absolutely, it is gross that those who violently assaulted police officers and destroyed property were granted pardons. I would have entertained commutations of sentences on a case by case basis, but they were certainly guilty and should be held accountable.

But when you look deeper at some of these prosecutions, there was cruel and unusual punishment certainly given to people who did nothing but walk around the building. Not saying that they should not have been given some punishment, but 2+ years jail time is not fair, and in many cases the evidentiary standard for what was allowed by the prosecution was absurd.

That matters and people on the right continue to downplay that aspect. They didn't just trespass on government property.
