IB is doing a mailbag on Youtube right now and they wouldn't be shocked if up to half of A&M's 2022 class hits the portal before next season kicks off. Brian Smith, who covers Florida recruiting for IB, said that A&M is going to lose a program-changing player from their 2022 class but didn't say who.

With David Shaw stepping down, I would think the first roster ND looks to raid would be Stanford, right? Easy pickings for admissions.

It's worth exploring a few of their players if they end up in the portal. Obvious for me, it would be the combination of Tanner McKee & Elijah Higgins.
I don't expect undergraduate transfers, however. No one in their right mind would walk away without a degree from Stanford.

Without counting any 5th (HS class of 2019) and 6th year (HS class of 2018) players, and assuming we hold on to all of our 2023 commits and add Hillman and Kaleb Smith, here is the breakdown based on their HS class:
2020-13 (not including Mayer, obviously)
2021-23
2022-21
2023-27
A total of 84, and there will likely be between 6-8 5th and 6th year players who are brought back.

IIRC, I believe it was Prister who was pretty blunt about Freeman admitting the mistake they made by not taking a QB this season. MF doesn't appear to be the type of guy who makes the same mistake twice. And if he hits the portal the way he hits the recruiting trail, I think next season could be one for the books.
Guys will undoubtedly leave this off season (I'm not willing to speculate who). So this roster could see some turnover, but in a positive way. Besides QB and DL, I'm not sure they should be categorizing portal transfers. Just get the best available and upgrade your roster everywhere.
