basically the Blake Barnett/Kelly Bryant playbook

Yeah but he was the starter with no chance to lose his job. If he is good enough to play at the next level then he doesn't need to transfer to prove it. He just needs to play and be there for his teammates. Won't ever blame someone for making decisions about their career... it'd their life after all. But transferring when you really don't have to makes me question your commitment to your teammates.

Or the financial commitment someone else is making to you, lol.

Per ISD, Isaiah Pryor has entered the transfer portal. I wonder if we kick the tires on that one.

Don't know what to think about this one if true. Guess Oklahoma is calling.

This is a new one. Could lead to some interesting new trends.

How demoralizing must this be for Houston? Their star QB essentially just told them that they're not good enough for him. But he's got NFL buzz and I suppose he's gotta do what he feels he needs to boost his draft stock and maximize his future earnings.

So, they’re self-redshirting, but staying at Houston and planning to come back next year? Fascinating.

I guess we’ve talked on here about various ND guys doing this (Donte Vaughn, for instance). But not the starting QB.

I think ND has to. Looking at his recruiting profile he seems to the academic school offers where that shouldn’t be an issue.

Give Pryor a fresh start at a new school and line him up next to Hamilton next year. I’m all for it!

Agree. They should pursue. He grades out better than other options ND has for the rest of 2020. How many years of eligibility are left?

I am on record right now that King will not throw another pass for Houston.

2 from Sparty entered the portal this week. Cam Chambers and Weston Bridges. Both WR's.

Michigan State receiver Cam Chambers has entered the transfer portal, the second Spartans receiver to make the move in less than a week.

The school confirmed the move Thursday. The Spartans have this weekend off before hosting Penn State on Oct. 26.

Chambers had 19 catches for 264 yards during the 2018 season, but in 2019 he's played in only two games with no receptions.

Earlier in the week, the school said wide receiver Weston Bridges also was entering the transfer portal. Bridges played in six games last season as a redshirt freshman. He made the transition from running back to wide receiver this year, but he has not played in a game in 2019.

Wasn't that the buttercup that couldn't hack it at Bama so tapped out?

blurb from espn

As time went on following his father's original tweet and Alfano's name was absent from the transfer portal, Alabama coach Nick Saban addressed the issue Sept. 18, saying Alfano "basically quit."

Saban went on to say the defensive end stopped going to class and to the football facilities, and that Alabama tried to set up counseling for the first-year player.

"Until he responds, you just have to assume the guy quit," Saban said at the time.

Alfano's name is no longer listed on Alabama's official roster on the program's website, and since his name is officially in the transfer portal, Alfano is able to receive communication from other programs.

Alfano attended three different high schools, starting at Bergen Catholic, followed by Rahway High and eventually Colonia. He had been considering Penn State and Georgia along with Alabama before he committed during high school, but it is unknown at this time which teams might have interest in his transfer.

blurb from espn

The family came out and said that his grandmother (apparently someone he is close with) is really sick so now he wants to be closer to home. Saban has had a different story, according to him they have tried to help Alfano through the situation with counseling and he hasn’t engaged in that, classes or practices.

Sick grandmother. At least he's into the classics.

So he's going to play for Rutgers?

What's the story here 3T?

According to a guy I know close to the program, AA hasn’t adapted to being away from home and basically shut himself out from the staff, counselors, etc. My contact believes AA is exhibiting early signs of some mental illness issues but without much cooperation from AA the staff is at a loss and frustrated that they couldn’t reach him. Hope AA can get things figured out and becomes productive in life, with or without football.

Shocker here. Georgia OL Cade Mays in the transfer portal.

The fully story here is nuts.

Wow so probably due to them suing the university they think it’s best for Cade to get out. I’m sure he wasn’t happy about it.

I suspect it's the opposite actually. He wants out (they just lost their celebrated OL coach), so dad files the lawsuit so the son can claim hardship and get immediate eligibility at Tennessee.

Didn't his brother just sign with Tenn?
