No problem.

I was looking up how graduate transfers for 2018 in FBS schools have worked out, especially ND transfers overall.

Some significant graduate transfers and their starting status:

Won Starting jobs
Joe Burrow, QB - LSU
Keller Chryst, QB - Tenn
KJ Carta-Samuels, QB - Colorado St
Calvin Anderson, LOT - Texas
Brandon Kennedy, OC - Tennessee
Ryan Finley, QB - NC St
Gardner Minshew, QB - Washington State
Blake Barnett, QB - USF
Dallas Warmack, RG - Oregon

Also:
Wilton Speight, QB - UCLA - 2nd string

Of note:
Montgomery Van Gorder, QB - Youngstown State - Starter

Others not mentioned?

So with week 4 approaching in the season, wonder how many players we see quit their team in order to save a year of eligibility. Auburn just lost their TE J. Harris and word is they may be losing N. Craig Myers as well. I can see this becoming a major trend with the new transfer rules.

The biggest name that comes to mind is your own Jalen Hurts. If he really is graduating in December, he could transfer and have 2 years of eligibility left. As a guy that realistically has zero pro prospects, I'd think he would want to maximize his time in college. With his limited skillset and 1 year of eligibility, I'd guess his number of suitors would be more limited. With 2 years of eligibility, however, I'd think that opens up a lot more doors for him.

Jalen has done some things behind the scenes that make me wonder if he will actually stay. But I agree, two years of eligibility will open more doors for him than just one.

Yep... if Myers leaves that would not be good. I think he is so underutilized by Gus and I believe he is a much better talent than he has been able to show up till now. Don't know for sure if he does leave or not but I honestly don't think I would blame him.

A top prospect who is promised immediate playing time and does not get it, or someone whose position coach leaves after NSD, especially with a change in scheme, or who enters a program that he finds questionable may well consider a transfer prior to his fourth game, too.

Don’t they still have to sit a year after transferring though? And they still get five years to play four, right?

If so, I don’t get why this is happening. Unless these guys are banking on getting a waiver to play next year, aren’t they out until 2020? Why not just play out this season and go in January?

I may be wrong, but he can transfer now and use this year as the "sit out" year, since he can red shirt under the new rules.

Bryant is the type of player that I don't really want on my team. He was given every chance to win the starting job outright and just lost out to a better player. To say he was not given the chance is disingenuous at the least and borderline entitlement on the other end. Wish him well however as he moves on to another team. Maybe he learns that it is earned and not given in football... and life.

Jalen Hurts was #7 in QBR last season in college football. This year he's been in and out of the lineup so that's been difficult on his statistics. Kelly Bryant however is 105th in QBR this season and he's started all 4 games. He's been worse than Brandon Wimbush has this year and is competing against a guy with the 7th best QBR in the FBS (87.2) in Trevor Lawrence. I think, like Brandon Wimbush, Kelly Bryant should go to a team that he will start for almost assuredly. Kelly will graduate in December and will have the benefit of joining a team for spring ball and be able to learn the offense and prepare for his last go around as a college QB.

trevor lawrence has now caused 2 qb transfers from clemson.....tough to come into a situation with this much expectations and living up to them thus far....think it might be the hair factor too....helps divert the wind and gets more velocity on his ball

Absolute boss... Still find it absolutely hilarious that people on this board believe Phil is better then Lawrence.

Does that leave them thin at QB? What happens if Trevor goes down? Haven't paid close attention so I'm not sure who their third option was.

Yes, very thin.

Hell, they have a QB that plays for Furman.

If that Mitch Kramer-looking dude gets hurt, they may have to play this guy:
