I hear ya bro, hope we get this one right. I am kind of on the Denson side now, but this Gran guy sounds pretty damn good as well. Should be interesting to see how this all plays out.

...Anyone alive who watched AD play would want that guy. My only reservation is the other role TA had...South East recruiting...I think that brings a weighty dimension to the discussion...That area is a never ending cage match, but ND has to have an effective player in it...is that AD? Anyone else on the staff currently?

Per BGI it looks like the top two targets as Alford's replacement are Denson and Deland McCullough RB coach at Indiana. The main factors that Kelly is looking for is somebody that players can look up to as a role model and a good recruiter.

How is he in recruiting?

They reference him bringing in and developing Tevin Coleman as a big positive. Identifying him as a player and then getting him to commit. Also, they reference that he has recruited and landed kids from Florida, Maryland, Virginia, Illinois, Ohio, Mississippi, Texas and New York. That would give him a national profile which would be desired for a recruiting coordinator.

Gran is experienced as RB and ST coach and whips major ass recruiting Miami and south Florida. He'd be a much better choice than the inexperienced Denson.

I liked AD as a player, but his bonafides are nothing compared to Gran. So, I'd wager Denson gets the job...

But Gran is not going to give up being an OC just to coach RBs at ND.

I still hope it's Denson. I want guys passionate about ND, and being an alumni and national Champion helps that.

NDOhio: koon, if you can post here, then you must have internet access. And you do know, if you have internet access, you can look these things up online?

koonja: ain't nobody got time for that!

Why would I bother looking something up I thought I knew? This isn't a project proposal. Ain't nobody got time for that! Lol.

You hate Joe Schmidt. Get away from me.

I love Joe, just not in the same way that you love Greg Bryant. I appreciate Joe's contributions so much I was worried that we were going to be too tight with scholarship restrictions and be unable to offer him another year for free!

IU had a pretty decent year recruiting and a lot of that was due to McCullough. I believe he was also instrumental in pulling a couple of transfer kids from UAB who were being pursued by a number of big programs.

It's not, and now we have confirmation that you are both not a fan and that your grammar is atrocious.

APA Style Blog: Using "a" or "an" With Acronyms and Abbreviations

Good Grief, Charlie Brown! Maybe it's time to hand over my Grammar Hammer to someone younger and crustier. I've grown soft.

I let my personal "AutoCorrect" kick in. I view it as situational. While I prefer "an ND" over "a ND," I make a mental adjustment. If someone uses "a ND ..." I think "a Notre Dame." " An ND ..." mentally translates to "En Dee."

I'm more flexible than many think.
