The Administration can shove it. Pretty sad and pathetic they all deserve to be fired immediately.

Moose, Alford is a dynamic recruiter......no ifs, ands, or buts about it!!! Did he land 5* talent routinely????? No, but he landed kids that, otherwise wouldn't have ended up in South Bend, or a few that we had no business landing......the man works his ass off on the recruiting trail......something not easily replaced!!!!
Net profit over 40 million.

I won't turn down for that, at least most of you guys have seen a National Title
I haven't either, but at least I was born in the 80s so I can pretend I saw one.
Greg Bryant's two cents..

Seriously though, I get people rationalizing, but the optics of this are terrible. I'll be very surprised if this upcoming recruiting class measures up to the last three given how hard it's going to get recruiting in our backyard coupled with the loss of longstanding relationships in Florida and Texas. People saying Alford "only recruited Florida" as if that somehow mitigates the loss of the most universally loves and respected coach on the staff... who also organized all recruiting efforts.
Yep no other way around it.
My words, we are not in a position for this to happen. We just won 8 fucking games and we lose our best recruiter and a huge part of the process. Let me know when we actually come back from this until then, this is embarrassing. Everybody that is down playing this, (much love) but you're absolutely kidding yourself if you believe this is no big deal or something of little impact, at least short term.
Boys don't cry. Only girls cry. Didn't you know?
Yep no other way around it.

How about we wait to see who Kelly gets as a replacement and give that replacement a year or two, before we start talking about how bad it is. At this point, it's a challenge. Give the program an opportunity to meet that challenge.

The last time Notre Dame lost three assistant coaches in one season was after the 8-5 campaign in 2011, when Warinner and Hinton departed for Ohio State and offensive coordinator/quarterbacks coach Charley Molnar was hired as the head coach at Massachusetts (and fired after just two seasons). The Irish responded with a 12-0 regular season that season and No. 1 ranking before falling 42-14 to Alabama in the BCS Championship.
The program has a challenge and that is two seasons of underperformance. Losing to bad teams and this certainly doesn't help.
It is a little impact for a very short time, every program is playing musical assistants right now and an assistant coach getting promoted is generally a sign of a healthy program. We will have a rebuilt staff shortly and assuming the product on the field is good this fall, recruiting will be just fine. If you are embarrassed by a running backs coach moving up somewhere else you might want to sit a couple plays out champ.
I think the only bad team that we have lost to, in the last two years, is Northwestern this year.
Without looking that's a fair point and that in it of itself is downright terrible, especially at home. Sorry guys we just won 8 games that is a reality. This team has enough talent to be good but we also did the last two years.
2015 is the year for Kelly if not fire the man.
How would people feel about 9-3 and a bowl win for 10-3?
