It would be hard for Rees to pass up an opportunity with Bama and Saban. His coaching tree speaks for itself; if you succeed under Saban, you are going to have your share of jobs to choose from in short order. I also expect it wouldn't be an issue for Saban to give him a nice pay bump to further entice him, either.

Only draw for Rees to stay is "unfinished business" in South Bend, but idk how he would weigh that against career aspirations and coaching under one of the greatest to ever patrol the sidelines.

They said he had a lengthy zoom call yesterday with Saban. This can’t be good.

The only draw is unfinished business? Not love and commitment to his alma mater?

Would be an incredibly odd move with Hartman in the fold. Would be foolish to not at least explore the opportunity. Hopefully he tells Saban thanks but no thanks.
I'm w/ you. I thought TR was on the NFL track. Way not stay, ball out w/ Hartman this season and make an NFL move next seaon. By going to Bama you'd going to be breaking in new QB's and maybe delay the NFL move for a few more season??

Their offensive coordinator last year just took an NFL job. And the one before that became the head coach at Texas.

And the one before that went to Michigan and won the Broyles award.

And the one before that is now coaching the NY Giants.

And the one before that is now the head coach at Ole Miss.

Sounds like contract negotiation time. Anyone know the relationship between TR and MFMF?

Kind of agnostic on Tommy, think he's been hamstrung by the same recruiting issues that bedevil every other part of our program. But losing him to Bama would be pretty humiliating. What does it say about where we stand as a program if our coaches (and five star croots, of course) routinely get pillaged by the SEC whenever they want?

This sure would be something else. Tommy finally gets the QB he should have recruited years ago but decides to leave before ever coaching the guy, lol.

Says we are a feeder school for programs that care about football. We have one foot in and one foot out of big boy football. I am not a Tommy fan, but perception wise this sucks.

It's the sign of a good program.

When your positional coaches becomes OCs/DCs, or your OCs take lateral moves to the best dynasty in CFB, it means you have some well-thought of, talented, ambitious members in your building.

I don't think so man. If Rees was leaving for a P5 HC position I'd buy it. Not moving to a (declining) program for the same position across the country.
