I don't give a damm about the staff reading this forum, they can't concern themselves with shallow commentary.
I am just (a bit) giving a damm about MY reading this forum and having to plough through the shallowness to find the occasional piece of useful information from posters like BobbyMac or Dale etc, and not be "treated" to any more uninformed bitchfesting than necessary.

If posters had just a little more perspective on what the Notre Dame coaching and recruiting situations actually amount to, MAYBE there would be less crap (particularly negative crap) and more substance. SUBSTANCE-based negative "news" and ideas are welcome though unpleasant, so that's "fine." We just have way too many uninformed gripers on IE. ... Fool's errand by me, but Hope is eternal.

Notre Dame's minimum requirements: A hard row to hoe for many high school athletes.

  • 4 units of English
  • 3 units of Mathematics - Algebra I, Algebra II, and Geometry (4 units preferred)*
  • 2 units of Foreign Language (3-4 units preferred)
  • 2 units of Science (4 units preferred)**
  • 2 units of History/Social Science (3-4 units preferred)
REALLY need to drop the second language thing for athletes. I believe that it was part of the Stepp problem as well.
... and we really need to at least somewhat get off the staff's back about who they should be recruiting unless we
really know about this stuff in detail with the recruit talked about.
Good to know that if I wasn't a 5'10" 210 tub of lard I could've met the minimum requirements.

They should feel that way after this past recruiting cycle.

Would be a good move if he’s willing to accept it. Think Rees valued him very highly.

It’s a no brainer I think. I wouldn’t be above swapping Parker and him even and have Parker in the analyst role

Tommy isn't going anywhere this year. I'd bet all my vBucks on it.
I agree. His stock can dramatically improve in the next year or two with the talent they've been stockpiling since he took over at OC. The offense is set to breakout either this season or next season as the guys get coached up and experienced. We're returning a good number of starters on offense this year and pretty much all of them will be experienced upperclassmen. I think he holds out for a decent HC job at a winner you can succeed at rather than a bottom feeder that's doomed to hurt your career.

Well this guy is an ESPN reporter so it's not like a CJ golson bullshit rumor or something. Feels like Elko.

Hmmmm. This will be interesting.

Rees is well-thought of amongst the coaching community, and this backs that up.
