I'm sorry, but if you are old enough to die for your country you should be old enough to have a drink. I believe though that 19 is the sweet spot. 19 keeps it out of high schools.

Ask any person over 21 when they binge drank more, and I'm sure most will say that they drank more dangerously when they were underage. (Exceptions to every rule though and I know that)

Anyone else wonder why the 4 who were apparently attempting to flee with Rees weren't charged with Consumption of Alcohol by a minor? I know it doesn't involve the team, but it says something to me about the SBPD. Obviously they were minors or they would have no reason to flee, right? Maybe I'm missing something, but the whole thing seems fishy to me. (sorry if previously discussed, I didn't see anything)

Hypocritical is the wrong word, but arbitrary and illogical are good descriptors. I think he's getting at the strange disconnect between all the potential responsibility one can take on at 18 while being unable to lawfully drink a beer.

Agreed kind sir. Maybe I'm looking at this with to much of a simplistic mind but I really am not sure why the drinking age can't be lowered to 18 or 19. The average age around the world appears to be in the 18-19 range for legalized drinking. (Legal drinking age - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia)

Listen I have a huge amount respect for cops who 1) work in cities with real crime, and fight said crime, and 2) use their f*cking brain and proper judgment on college kids.

I hate traffic cops, and state highway patrolmen. And small town cops with an axe to grind. And basically the DEA. Let's stop pretending like they're heroes, they're overweight radar gun operators with a pension too nice for their own good.
