This is sort of crazy. Earlier today former Fleetwood Mac guitarist Lindsey Buckingham was attacked in Santa Monica by a woman known to him, who threw an unknown substance on him and then fled. My first thought was Stevie Nicks, but no This was a woman who's been stalking and harassing him for years and he has a restraining order against her. Apparently just a nutjob. He didn't suffer any injuries from the attack, but after all the mistreatment by his supposed friend Diondre Cole on What's Up With That, now this.

I heard about this earlier today. My first thought: they should have Buckingham on SNL to do another "What's Up With That" skit about this.

A few weeks ago my 84-year-old mom went to the Caribbean for a vacation, and while there bought a shirt similar to the one below. She was clueless about it and just thought it looked tropical and pretty. After she got back she put it on to wear to church one Sunday evening. My brother happened to be visiting and said, "Mom, no! That's a marijuana shirt." He said that as soon as the words came out he thought, "OH FUDGE! What have I done???" My sister and I have made fun of him for ruining what would've been a hilarious moment as our mom strolled into church with her ganja threads on.

My sister doesn't have much room to talk, though. Back in '05, my mom & dad were about to leave for a night out of dinner and a movie when my sister asked them what movie they were going to. My mom told her it was a western about sheep ranching called Brokeback Mountain. My idiot sister warned her off without thinking, then realized she'd ruined a great moment. Our dad would've made a joke and said that was why he raised cattle not sheep, but our mom would've been traumatized. LOL

I struggle with it unless it's Masters or Ryder Cup. The Masters is kinda its own thing. Pomp and circumstance. Ryder Cup is jet fuel patriotism.

But outside of that, golf is not fun to watch.

That's always been my take. Golf is generally pretty boring to watch most of the time.

I was at Torrey Pines for the '08 Open though. I think I mentioned it in another thread forever ago, but I was there for work and managing a server and point of sale system for the merchandise tent. Everyone stopped shopping and was watching the Sunday finish on the big screen projector in the tent, even though it was all happening just outside. We watched as Tiger was taking the putt that would decide if he was going to the playoff with Rocco or if Rocco would be the winner. He lines up the shot, and we could hear the ovation before the ball ever left his putter because of the TV delay. It was massive, pretty cool moment still.



It's kind of crazy in hindsight that this was basically the last time we really got peak Tiger. Right after this he shut down the season to get his knee fixed I think, then he struggled until the '09 infidelity allegations came up that next year. Aside from a surprising Masters win out of nowhere in 2019, Tiger never really got back to his old form after this Open.

My brother and I were laughing yesterday about something our dad used to do. He would get so wrapped up in whatever project he was thinking about or a story he was telling that he would neglect to pay attention to certain things around him. He had a really bad habit of just assuming that if he wanted salad dressing, then the bottle in front of him must be salad dressing, or the tube on the bathroom counter must be toothpaste, and so on. This led to him regularly putting lemon juice on his pancakes, syrup in in coffee, creamer on his salad, salad dressing in his tea, and so on. Over the years he brushed his teeth 20 or 30 times with Neosporin, Preparation H, or some of my mom's makeup.

My favorite was one time he was going to make popcorn. Back in the days before microwaves, you heated oil in a big pot, dumped in the popcorn kernels, and then shook the pot for a few minutes until it all popped. The rest of the family was nearby in the den watching TV and we could hear him shaking and shaking that big soup pot full of popcorn kernels, but none of them were popping. After several minutes he called my mom to the kitchen. About that time a nasty burning chemical smell hit the den - smelled like a burning dishrag - and we heard my mom say, "Oh good grief, James! That's PineSol!" There'd been a bottle next to the stove, so in his mind, it must have been Wesson Oil.

I hit 205 on my squat, didn’t do bench because I’ve been sick for most of the week.

Another update, I’m up to 188(166 when the season ended in late November so that’s a gain), still 5’9(hoping a growth spurt kicks in soon), my bench is up to 140, squat still the same, but I’m hoping to increase the numbers to at least 150 in bench, and 225 in squat next time we test.

Just rewatched Midway 2019,… my main takeaway?? How grossly hated on this movie was had more to do with politics than the movie itself. I mean for fuck’s sake Lions Gate felt it necessary to put a ‘we do not endorse the opinions of this film’ in front of the laser disc,… seriously!?!

All things considered it’s far from a perfect film, first act pacing issues are probably the biggest problem, but it’s pretty well done, decently acted, very good cinematography and excellently done from a historical aspect and it was absolutely, uniformly, shat on by critics,… there is a lesson here, maybe one day we will learn it.

Another update, I’m up to 188(166 when the season ended in late November so that’s a gain), still 5’9(hoping a growth spurt kicks in soon), my bench is up to 140, squat still the same, but I’m hoping to increase the numbers to at least 150 in bench, and 225 in squat next time we test.

Another small update I’m 189 now, my bench is 155, squat is 245(could’ve done more but I had to make the late bus), my broad jump is 88 inches, and my 10 yard fly was 1.14 seconds

Nice, keep it up! Consistently is key, if you get out of rhythm you'll regress and lose some progress.

In related news, last week I did 12 reps of 225 on bench which I haven't done since high school 26 years ago. My bench has always been a bit weaker than I would like, but it feels good getting back to a place I haven't been in a long time.

I've been trying to find a very particular hat and ultimately decided to just try and custom design it myself. The problem I may run into is that ordering custom patches will likely require a minimum order (I believe it's 50 units). Below is a photo of a Melin A-Game Hydro Links Edition hat with the patch removed and the ND coat of arms added. The coat of arms is what I'll be custom ordering as everything I've found online is way too big. If I have to order a minimum, are there others on here who'd like to get one of these patches? (Hat not included). Note: I haven't decided if I'll do the Latin seal or the English.

If it's an image of the official seal you would be using, you more than likely will have to clear it with the University's licensing office to avoid trademark infringement.

Valid point. I definitely need to consider that aspect. The custom patch creator I reached out to may need to re-design the seal in order to avoid that headache. Appreciate the call out. That was a blindspot for me during this process.

I wish you luck! I wear an ND hat every day I leave the house. Needless to say, between sun bleaching and the washing machine my hats tend to only last about 3 years before they start fraying and losing color. I'm also pretty particular about my ND hats, I prefer a basic navy blue with just a small monogram ND on the front, nice and simple. I usually go to '47 as they make one I like, and because I'm afraid they may be hard to find I got 3 of the hats last time around so I'm covered about a decade

Yeah, I've become particular too ever since I started wearing Melin hats. I didn't buy into the hype at first. Most fit my head weird. But then I found the A-Game Hydro Links hat and it's the most comfortable hat I have ever worn. The store only had one color and online only showed a few choices. And of course the obvious problem is that none of them are ND hats. Since I was able to find a navy blue color, I've been on a mission to figure out a way to convert it to a ND hat, but it's proving to be difficult. There is a local embroidery shop near me that I still need to call, but I'm not sure what designs she's allowed to create. I know she does have some licensing rights as she did a lot of work polos for me with a company logo. But ND might make it more difficult on these shops. Idk.

I did look into ND's trademarks and licensing via their website...I'm skeptical that I'd be given authorization to use the seal.

There are two official versions of the University of Notre Dame seal.

The Latin seal has very limited application and is primarily for official University use, such as contracts, certain stationery, lecterns, invitations, and academic diplomas.

The English seal has a wider usage and may be used—with authorization—as a design element on certain ceremonial communications, such as invitations, as well as merchandise items.

To ensure consistency, use the art as it is. Do not separate or alter the components.
