Will it no doubt go down in history that this was perhaps Notre Dame's most tumultous year? Start by going 1-3, the death of Declan Sullivan, losses to Tulsa and Navy, and the alleged sexual assault of a St. Mary's girl by a Notre Dame player who later committed suicide only to finish of the year on a 4 game win streak and beating a ranked Utah team, hated USC, and Miami and to pick up arguably one of the best defensive classes in Notre Dame history...wow...

I'll say it certainly was, and the topper is a first year coach had to wade through all of the criticism associated with the losses on the field and off.

WE did in fact face plenty of adversity this year but I think in the end it made our football program more stronger and perhaps give it a big shot of confidence. I think our future looks great because we prevailed in the end of this past season finishing off winning games in a sound fashion. I love the direction of our defense and I know in time our offense will really start clicking. We managed to overcome a ton of injuries to so many of our offensive players; and I think if we manage to stay reasonably healthy next season we should see dramatic improvement and a potent offense.

Agreed. Still hadn't gotten over 2007, but the future is looking great!

This year will be known as the year that while facing great adversity both on and off the field, Coach Brian Kelly laid the foundation for what will be among Notre Dame's most successful football seasons.

I think we will have another good year but I see us losing 3 or 4 games this next year. I see us losing to UM or MSU maybe both then Losing to Stanford or USC or both. We wont have a horrible year but I think thats still more in perspective than saying we go 12-0 like some people have said. We have the potential to go Undefeated but we can also go 4-8 as well

Right! There's been so much that I forgot to mention the tragic accidental death of Matt James. May he rest in peace.

BK was taking alot a heat, but he never flinched and in the end the team took on that personality.
