I'm pretty sure there's already a thread for this, but whatever. I fell while being a roadie for a friend's band. I was RKO'd outta nowhere.

I enjoyed this. Sorry I'm not smart enough to put videos directly on here. If somebody wants to post the video that'd be great.

They need to push the Miz again, get him off this lame Hollywood kick and get him back as one of the main heels involved in the title hunt... Miz vs Roman Reigns has potential. Finn Balor is pretty good stuff too..

excited to see what Fergal Devitt (Finn Balor) can do when he gets moved up to the full roster. Dude definitely has a lot of potential

Got some people coming over tomorrow... Liking Bray Wyatt... The Miz is being grossly misused... Hope he gets one last push... Diva stuff sucks...

I don't know how to post pictures from my phone but the WWE wrestler Sheamus was at the pep rally. He presented the team with a ND version of the WWE belt. For us few fake wrestling fans, it was pretty fun to watch.

Dick the Bruiser in his early years. Played four years for the Packers before turning to rasslin'.

Wasn't a big HBK fan in his early run, but I was also in Middle School/High School at the time, and I marked out for Stone Cold. After he came back from retirement I went back and watched a lot of his old matches, as well as his new ones. He's GOAT in my opinion now. There's a lot of great wrestlers, like Steamboat, Flair in his prime, Angle, Eddie Guerrero, can't possibly name them all. HBK was as athletic as any of them, but he had the charisma to be entertaining on the mic too, and he was one of the biggest innovators in every style and match type he participated in. Whether it was a newer gimmick, like the Ladder match, or Hell in a Cell, or the Elimination Chamber, or if it was just adding twists to the established stuff like Royal Rumble and basic tag matches, he put his own stamp on it and set the bar. I honestly haven't watched much pro-wrestling since he retired again. He was the Jordan of his craft, imo. Like Jordan, plenty of great players come and go since he exited the game, but I don't know if there will be another wrestler that will leave his mark like Shawn Michaels did.

This was his first match back 5 years after back surgery that nearly ended his career. He came out looking like he had no ring rust at all, delivering a great 35 minute match that stole the show.

Title should be "The Fake Wrestling Thread".

Not a wrestling fan, but they don't try to hide that's it's scripted anymore, so it's dumb to call it fake. You wouldn't call the walking dead or game of thrones or Seinfeld fake, so it just sounds silly.

It's always been dumb to call it fake, and insults the intelligence of anyone you say it to. You wouldn't tell someone that water is wet.

What is your least favorite finisher ever? For me it's between the spear and the leg drop.

Yeah HBK definitely had the charisma. I was a huge Degeneration X and HBK fan. When I was in grade school our posse always used to get in trouble for doing the "X" thingy. haha. I saw HBK live at Wrestlemania in Anaheim, he was great and definitely a crowd fav. I always used to imitate him with that sweet chin music. My bro loved Brett "the hitman" hart with the figure four move. Shit hurt like hell. Lol

At least the spear looks like it could actually do some damage if done right. Too many people use it though. Hogan's leg drop was pathetic. Some of the worst off the top of my head are Jeff Hardy's swanton bomb, Wade Barrett's "wasteland," Mankind's "mandible claw," that move that Christian used to do.

I think the idea behind calling it "The Fake Wrestling Thread" is to prevent folks like myself from coming in here for collegiate wrestling discussion and discovering it's about the WWE. I don't think he intended to make fun of it, only to help clear up initial confusion.

The People's Ebow was always one that perplexed me. The leg drop was dumb and nonbelievable. The greatest are the Stunner, the Tombstone and Sweet Chin Music.

I used to be a Hogan fan, but I got sick of his bullshit about 10 years ago when he had that feud with Shawn Michaels. They were supposed to have a long feud that went with Hogan winning a match, then Michaels winning a match, and then a rubber match where it ended in a draw or Hogan won. Hogan decided he didn't want to do the job though, he just wanted to beat HBK and be done with the feud, even though he was frickin' 60 and not wrestling full time. His whole run in the mid 2000s was really about promoting his show "Hogan Knows Best." HBK did the job as he agreed to, but he over sold on moves and basically made Hogan look like the douche that he was, it was fantastic and hilarious. That whole feud was pretty good actually, loved the Larry King spoof that HBK did.

That said, I don't think the Leg Drop is necessarily the greatest finisher of all time, but I don't think it's as bad as people think. If a 300+ man dropped his leg on your chin/neck, you'd feel it. The move has a great setup too with the whole pandering to the crowd prior to the drop. I think the move has lost some of it's luster as finishers have evolved though.

As far as worst finishers imo, I've never been a fan of Bradshaw's Clothesline from Hell. Kind of cool when he gets an athletic guy that can do the flip as he's getting hit, but most wrestlers can't pull it off. Not a fan of the STFU/STF or arm bar submissions as a finsiher. It's certainly effective, but not an impressive finish unless it's countered into. In fact, in general I'm not a fan of submissions as finishers, with some exceptions like Rowdy Roddy Piper or the Million Dollar Man pulling out a Sleeper, or Jerhicho's Lion Tamer, or it's the Flair Figure Four Leglock, or Bret's Sharpshooter. All the wrestlers that used those moves as their main finishers built them up well and got the moves over, they made them work. Not a fan of Angle's Ankle Lock though, prefer that he uses the Angle Slam. Speaking of Cena and the STF, his Attitude Adjustment/FU sucks. The only time it's been impressive is if he's lifting the Big Slow. Not a Spear fan either, it's just been so overused by every wrestler that it really shouldn't qualify as a Finisher.
