I noticed that and was waiting for that to be a reason given for ND being so high in the first rankings. Mainly, I will admit, because it made me chuckle that a rule made specifically to benefit the SEC was actually benefitting ND more than anyone at the time. When they didn't bring it up after the 3rd show, when the H2H chorus was really starting to get going, I knew we were cooked.Yeah they specifically implemented SOR and SOS as metrics to be emphasized. It appears that “game control” and FPI were deemphasized as we saw it significantly less this year when they would have benefited us both greatly.
Also worth noting OSU, IU, Oregon, ND, TT (non SEC teams) were pretty consistently at the top of the advanced metrics this year and they were rarely referenced by the committee.
Who’s going to be the first on the ND beat to take this as an unfair attack on journalism?
Who’s going to be the first on the ND beat to take this as an unfair attack on journalism?
probably will be a more productive event with a little time for emotions to cool down but I actually think it’s too bad mostly because I would love for these guys to be forced to answer pointed questions and it’s hard to think of an environment where the questions would be more pointedMy entire timeline is blue check journalists crying. It was rescheduled to the spring and the dude lives in Chicago. Total nothing burger.
Sampson, Soble, Fallica, Forde, Godfrey, Wojiechowski etc
SampsonWho’s going to be the first on the ND beat to take this as an unfair attack on journalism?
Seems like he doesn't like ND very much either.Sampson lives a tortured life as a sports journo who isn’t a sports fan
He voted us 6th in 93, dude can kick rocks.Everyone do yourself a favor and research how he voted ND in the the AP poll in '93 before you get pissed at ND for cancelling...
when both teams finished 10-2 with similar SOS I think H2H is enough for Canes to be in over ND, but they should’ve made that decision after we played our last games.
Im so incredibly tired of having beat reporters that simply do not like the team they are covering. Hell even Prister the guy that graduated from ND wrote an entire summary about why UM deserved to be above ND. With friends like these, who needs enemies? Same as having hostile color analysts on our own broadcasts. Fuck your journalistic integrity, nobody gives a shit nerd.Seems like he doesn't like ND very much either.
There’s gotta be a statute of limitations on that.Everyone do yourself a favor and research how he voted ND in the the AP poll in '93 before you get pissed at ND for cancelling...
Sampson reporting the event is back on. Good. I'm as mad as anyone but ND is a university for heaven's sake. And this wasn't his fault anyway.
Tweedle dee and tweedle dum looking asses playing their parts perfectlyFortuna causing outrage and Sampson putting it out. Just chef’s kiss.
They both can seriously fuck off. Tired of both of them whiny mfs.Fortuna causing outrage and Sampson putting it out. Just chef’s kiss.
I want to be loved as much as anyone, but what exactly was the value of this goodwill for ND and MF in the past month? I didn't sense the value of the goodwill when the broadcasters were trashing ND during the ND/Stanford game at 1:30am. And definitely didn't sense it when we got screwed out of a CFP spot. The team that gets screwed out of a spot will always be criticized if they complain.I’ll say this, someone compared this to politics and in one regard that’s dead on, perception is reality… and the facts are Notre Dane is getting massacred in the perception realm right now…. For every article or talking head or post mentioning how screwed up this all is there are a dozen plus dunking on ND and celebrating like this is the greatest thing to happen to humanity since the polio vaccine. Any good Will Freeman and our run last year brought to the program is ashes right now
A fully manufactured 30 minute news cycle. We live in a dystopia.Tweedle dee and tweedle dum looking asses playing their parts perfectly
I posted similar data in a different thread, but according to FPICan someone that understands SOS explain to me how in the world ND and Miami’s SOS was so close? At least on the graphic ESPN kept flashing for 4 weeks.
They had 4 common opponents and played each other (wash), ND went on to play 2 more ranked teams in A&M and USC, Miami’s next best two teams were 8-4 Louisville and SMU along with an FCS team on their schedule.
How are they 44 and 47 in SOS?
Yeah, I always feel like I'm being lectured when I listen to them. There's such a marked difference when I observe how other beat reporters cover their respective schools. We need a better class of insiders. They both can seriously fuck off. Tired of both of them whiny mfs.
