Next year’s schedule looks rough....... Looks like 9 win year on paper.

Why do we continue to do this to ourselves? BK beats who he should since the reboot.

Shouldn't next year's expected floor be 10-2 with the possibility of a home win vs Clemson depending on how both teams are trending early?

Looks like a bye week before Clemson and plenty of time to prepare for Ohio State. Need to win at least one of those.

Taking on the Big10, ACC and PAC12 winners will sharpen this team. I think this is great for building toughness.
And, I'll go on record and say i think we kick the shit out of all 3 of them next year.

Buchner is going to have to throw next year. 8-4 is a real possibility.. Sure, he could be great. And he could struggle some. 10-2 sounds pretty reasonable. We aren't beating a pissed off OSU on the road and we will probably drop another.

In the same vein, option quarterbacks are the great equalizer of college football. Rees & Kelly get a whole summer to craft a game plan for Ohio State. Yes I know the Buckeyes get that too, but we already know Ohio State's QB and skill position players are terrific, so I think it's better for Notre Dame to not be on film for the Ohio State staff to review.

Anyone know why the dates for the BC and Syr games are still TBA?

The three open dates are before BYU, before Clemson, and before USC. The open date is best used in the middle of the season IMO. We should avoid ending the season with 3 road games on alternating coasts.

I think 6-6 is the worst case, new coach, QB and all that and a schedule with a lot of programs that peak and valley often,… you never know,… on the flip another ten win season is very realistic if things fall our way

MF will age 15 years next season if he goes 6-6 and we will be wondering why Jack didn't go after Fickell harder

So next year's home game vs BC and away game in the Carrier Dome vs Syracuse still do not have dates set for them. Here are the openings:

October 1 (between @UNC & neutral-site BYU), October 29 (between home UNLV & Clemson) and November 19 (between neutral-site @Baltimore vs Navy & Coliseum finale vs USC).

Sure seems to me like you don't want to go to the Carrier Dome right before the Clemson game, as I'm afraid that'd make it a Friday trap game. Hell, Clemson has lost there in years past. Nor does going there before flying to LA vs the Archrival sound good either. It's a heck of a lot of travel, but I'd try to put that in between the UNC and BYU games, and let the BC game be the standard Senior Day on November 19. That leaves you with a BYE before Clemson.

Just my look on this, what do y'all think?

Looks like they went the other way on the Syr game but at least its not between Navy and USC that would have been a killer.

Bye between UNC and BYU is OK by me. And I'll repeat my earlier prediction of us driving poor Mack Brown into retirement

Starting to look at next year's schedule. Tough on the top end with Ohio St, Clemson and USC but at least they are spread out pretty well. Two group of 5 home games (Marshall and UNLV) which makes me wonder about the TV situation. Could both of these end up on Peacock? Home schedule beyond Clemson is weak TV wise. Would that make NBC more likely to go to Peacock or less?

And is the BYU game in Vegas an NBC game or not? Was this a BYU home game moved or is it a "one off". If it was supposed to be a BYU home game than its probably ABC's.

Could NBC actually only have four ND games this year?

Thinking BYU and Clemson are night games? NBC has the BYU game. Surprise, BYU has bye before ND.

Even though they are FCS, kinda cool it’ll be a benefit to TSU (HBCU).
