Love behind Coogan and Spindler win this game with Angeli.
ND's issues start above the QB.
ND's issues start above the QB.
Holiday? No. Jarrious Jackson? YesPowlus, Holiday, Clausen, Quinn, Book, Kizer.
All of them win easily today.
No balls. He looked terrible and also got semi-injured at one point. If we have such a “loaded” QB room, give another guy a few series.I just don't understand how the staff could see Leonard's play and continue to trot him out there. He's cooked.
I honestly think he’s hurtI just don't understand how the staff could see Leonard's play and continue to trot him out there. He's cooked.
He ran 11 times in the first half. Three plays in a row at one point in the second quarter. That's not going to work for long.I honestly think he’s hurt
He was wincing when he got tackled in first quarter.
Another reason to try Angeli
Genuinely don’t know if you’re talking about Quinn, Kizer, or Clausen.ND has had one good QB in the last 30 years it’s no coincidence the title drought roughly spans just as long.
Agree Hartman was better but his line was great.Hartman lost to OSU, UL, and Clemson. Not NIU.
Hartman cruises
Our line last year was great?Agree Hartman was better but his line was great.

I think I could comfortably name 30-40 programs that have had better QB play than us since the 16’ Kizer final season…and I can’t even begin to explain how incredibly frustrated that makes me.
It is demoralizing, and just unacceptable.
I’m hopeful that Carr will fix that for the next few seasons.
Our line last year was great?
Jimmy Clausen was elite in 2009 they just had zero defense and no run game whI h makes what he did all the more impressive.ND has had one good QB in the last 30 years it’s no coincidence the title drought roughly spans just as long.
The offense has never been more fun to watch than it was that year.Jimmy Clausen was elite in 2009 they just had zero defense and no run game whI h makes what he did all the more impressive.
Agreed. Mitchell had a few drops tooGreathouse could’ve changed the game but he dropped it. That’s not a Brown problem; Greathouse needs to reel that in.
Kevin MacDougal was the best QB in the past 30 years, and that team was robbed of a NC.I get your point, but Tony Rice wasn't exactly a world beater at QB. You can still win in college with above average to good QB play. It's harder and the formula for it to work is even harder at ND, but it can be done. But you can't win with mediocre, and too often, we've had mediocre sold to us as good if not great.
Hopefully the one to break it is a Michigan Man’s grandson…because if he cannot do it.It honestly feels like a curse has been put on the offenses of this program since Weis.
Wholeheartedly agree. There is a TON of young talent on this team showing out and getting experience this year. Next year they will be a year older, a year more experienced and ready to do some serious damage, but we wont have a quarterback with the experience. I would definitely get Carr or Minchey (whoever they think is the future) reps along with the other young WRs that can come back next year. Even 10 snaps a game would be huge. It's painfully obvious that this team needs continuity, a guy who is able to grow into the role and not a one-and-done, plug-and-play, ready-to-eat meal type of transfer qb. All of our transfer qbs (at least until proven wrong about riley) have been unsatisfactory to some degree. We need a developed Notre Dame Man, not a transfer qb who only has one year to grow into the role.
Eh, people forget he had to get bailed out by Tommy against Purdue, and BYU, and Stanford, and Michigan. Then he became a turnover machine in 2014 when he returned. There were two sides to Golson.Golson was one of our best QB’s he was athletic enough had us 12-0 he got suspended we probally run the table with him again
I agree. Ewers was a transfer QB for TexasI agree. Look at Texas with Ewers.
Yes but this is his 3rd season starting for them. They took their lumps and grew with him as a sophomore. We would have sat him and brought in a Riley Leonard to start instead.Ewers was a transfer QB for Texas
