If ND can't beat them, it's because they're better right now, not because fsu is hyper-motivated by a loss. They will be, anyway.

ETA: and truthfully, fsu likely isn't losing tonight, even w/o winston. The rest of the team is that good.

I'm not sure if it was ever posted on here anywhere, but I did read a press release from FSU earlier basically making an excuse why they were so late and non involved in his investigation the first time around. Came across to me like they were covering their ass for bad things to come.

There is apparently a NY Post piece coming out in the near future criticizing FSU's handling of the investigation - I believe FSU's statement was put out in advance to try and mitigate what will be in the NY Post article.

If we win out I don't think it would matter either way. I'd still like to beat FSU with Jameis. But even if that happens there are certain talking heads that will say FSU was merely exposed and ND still has to prove themselves against the likes of the SEC...

My battered fan syndrome goes as follows:

1) ND loses nail biter with FSU, and Winston plays
2) Winston is suspended rest of season, and FSU tanks
3) ND runs table, finishing with one loss
4) ND left out of playoff because they lost to a team with 3 losses

I have financial interest in all this. I owe a buddy money from a bet about FSU winning the championship last year. Its at double or nothing now for our upcoming game. I however have no intentions of paying a penny until this whole thing is put to rest. I told him I refuse to pay when Winston should have been suspended for rape.

The dude 'allegedly' raped someone and wasn't suspended during the investigation or following it. I don't see them suspending him now for this. And someone discovered the connection, is there anywhere saying the University or the NCAA is investigating.

So he is going to play tomorrow when he would possibly be deemed ineligible by NCAA rules, which would then cause FSU to forfeit any games which he played in during such period of ineligibility and thus ruining their chances to win the NCAA Championship?

FSU now seems a bit more concerned about image so I doubt they will take the heat for sitting him out just for Syracuse.

The NCAA does not have the manpower or financial resources to be ahead of this stuff before the media releases it. It came out now b/c it was linked to Gurley. A good portion of what the NCAA investigates takes place after a news story has already broken.

It is interesting to note that the autograph dealer in question is apparently a Florida fan, now in the center of a potential scandal with Georgia's and FSU's best player, respectively.
