Small market guys just don't get the same exposure. I hope he gets an opportunity for more recognition early in his career. Apologies to Royals fans.
He & his situation almost perfectly mirrors that of Mike Trout. They have a decent team w/ solid pitching and a good group of young guys.

As far as the Angels, Moreno has replaced Angelos as worst owner in MLB. Look how the Orioles immediately flourished once Comrade Pete passed away. Rubenstein inherited a great farm system but Angelos & his son would’ve pissed it all away like they had in the past.

Are you familiar with the White Sox organization?

We’re including MiLB teams? J/K, I knew this thread was full of ChiSox fans and would beg to differ.

Orioles haven’t won a WS since 1983. At least Sox have won this millennium. I can’t deny Reinsdorf is horrible but Angelos set the mold when he destroyed that franchise.

There’s always a handful of owners like Reinsdorf, Moreno & Angelos who have no business owning a major sports team despite being billionaires.

The largest contract the White Sox have ever given in Andrew Benintendi.

Nobody can be worse.

Ohtani just joined the 40 - 40 club. Impressive achievement.

I rank this up there with "Nobody wants to work anymore", which goes back to post Civil War America.

Great thread. Absolutely classic.

I hear what you’re saying but Witt is no Mike Trout.

Never said he was. Said the situation was similar b/c they’re both five tool players on a team that is notorious for not investing in a core group of players that can contend for a flag.

One of my college roommates was from Newark, CA and a big Giants fan. Bonds was doing unheard of things. I was so happy when the Rally Monkey took that series.

KC won one in 2015.

Sad to hear about Chet Lemon’s health issues. Always one of my favorite OF. I know there’s a lot of White Sox fans on this thread, so thought I’d share the update on him. He gave back everything he could to the baseball community & his family carries on as he tries to recover from all his strokes. Hope he can regain some of his faculties and enjoy communicating w/ his family & loved ones.

Former ND HC, Pat Murphy; leads the Brewers to the NL Central Crown after taking over for former ND player Craig Counsell who left to manage the Cubs.

Pretty solid celebration when all is said and done, be it today's standards or the past.

It wasn't St. Louis. Amen.

It's crazy to even be typing this out, as it seems like a dream, but somehow, someway, the Tigers are only 0.5 GB in the Wild Card race in the AL. The same team that sold a bevy of veteran pieces at the ASB, as they were 9 games below .500. They've been unbelievably fun to watch, as the youth movement has reinvigorated the squad. Sweeping the Royals last night was huge, and now they have a tough series in BAL this weekend. Best record in the AL since the break and best in the majors since August.

So glad they didn't deal Skubal at the deadline. He's a stud. Riley Greene, Sweeney, Jung, Tork (hoping he sticks) is a nice core. Could set up for a diamondbacks type run from last year.

Dude was 6-6 with 3 HRs, 2 doubles, 2 stolen bases, 10 RBI. Very nearly hit for the cycle but got thrown out at 3rd. It was against the Marlins though so it's debatable if it should really count.

Final score 20-4. Marlins pitching wasn't having one of their better days. lol

Can't forget Colt Keith and Kerry Carpenter, as well. No one talks about how good Vierling is playing, dude is a steady hitter and plus OF. Just a fun group to see them rally.

I'm sure there's some remourse about dealing Flaherty at the deadline as we approach potential playoff, but Scott Harris decided to let the youngsters play and they're showing a LOT. I bet the Tigers go all in and acquire some talent this offseason. Build a quality staff around Skubs

Got to catch Ohtani in Dodger Stadium facing Skenes & later at Busch Stadium where he hit a bomb. Headed to Coors Field next week to hopefully see him hit another.
