Ohtani might be the best baseball player I've ever seen.

He's certainly the most fun to watch as far as I'm concerned.

The whole Freeman deal has been a crazy story. Know that Dansby has the same rep they are saying there could be some issues working with that rep.

I am a braves fan but i live in MD and keep up with the O's. They have been bad but they are exciting to watch right now a lot of young talent. They just need to get some more pitching.

Him and Trout are stuck on a team that will just never be more than average.
It’s so strange bc right before Trout took off the Halos were in on every free agent, won a ton of division titles, went to like four ALCS in 12 or so years and won a title. They were rolling,….now that they have these two generational guys Moreno seems to just not give a shit

They need another stud pitcher.

What team has the ability to trade you a slew of prospects from their farm and absorb the contract of Mike Trout?

Rays, Orioles, D Backs, Mariners aren't going there. Marlins, Pirates, Royals, Rangers, Tigers are a no. No you're sitting outside of the top ten in terms of farm systems.

It's got to be the Dodgers.

Boston probably could.

If you get to super load up on a combo of two top five prospects and a couple mlb ready players with high ceilings,… trade either or both. I’m ready for a Astros like rebuild.

Middle of the pack farm right now, heavy on position players. Maybe. Yankees also a maybe.

Angels have one of the five worst farms right now. Both guys could command a lot in return in but it depends on what the GM would be willing to take.

Tough call. I'd still start with the Dodgers. They're contending, top five farm and they have the financial power to pay either Trout or Ohtani.

Speaking of Boston…

June was good but the AL East is back on the schedule again. Hasn’t faired as well so far in July. We’ll see… still down a couple starters.

Can confirm though that Raf. Devers has keys to G. Coles’ house. Probably his wife too. Completely owned.

Yanks 6; Raph 5.

Must start winning within the division. Cora will figure it out.

I think it’s less about Trout & Ohtani and more about the money they pissed away on Rendon. Not saying it solves all their problems but the signing of Rendon has been a colossal bust. I get that one can’t predict his injuries but that’s why the front office should be held accountable when investing that much guaranteed money in one player. Trout & Ohtani have excelled despite injuries. Rendon is a non-factor.

Raph 5, Yanks 6. Mr. Devers just came up short. Get a little help then we might be on to something. Really wish we resigned Schwarber.

Already down 5-2 in the 2nd too. We beat up on on non-league foes but the AL East (it’s not just the Yankees) we can’t figure out thus far.

Today the Halos page I frequent was posting memes about Baker Mayfield and Deshaun Watson saying, ‘It could be worse,… we could be the Browns’

Fml
My boss is from Cleveland and we were having this discussion…. Could be the only one, but I think Deshaun blows up in Cleveland. People hate and rightfully so, but the guy can play quarterback.

Personally as a Colts and ‘Phins fan I was hoping he’d go to the NFC.

The Halos also fucked up giving Justin Upton that contract. I think they need to trade Trout. He’s about to be 31 and his value will only continue to slowly go downhill.

Enter the Mets. Currently, they have the #2 prospect in all of baseball (according to mlb.com). 20 year old catcher just moved up to AAA. They have mlb.com’s #21 prospect as well in 3B Brett Baty. They also have #53 and #88 plus two 1st rd picks in this years draft that you can include as players to be named later.

On top of that, you have sports richest owner who doesn’t give a shit about spending money and desperate to win. An aging roster who is all in on winning now.

I think the other LA team and the NYY could be possible options but it gets tough after that.

Money frees you up to re-sign Ohtani, bring in a massive prospect haul, and build a stronger all-around team.

*I’m a Mets fan. Not advocating for the Mets to do a deal. Just pointing out the perfect storm for a way for the Halos to get out of the Trout deal at age 31. Oh, the Mets GM is the former Angels GM. Has a pretty good idea of what Arte Moreno’s thinking is.

Thought the Red Sox might grab the lead last night but the Yankees pitching came on and the bats stayed steady.

They need pitching not fielding prospects.

Since forever. Why they haven’t developed at least one workhorse like a Jared Weaver/Frank Tanana/Chuck Finley is hard to imagine. Detmers is still young so there‘s hope there long term. Lorenzen is a #3 guy at best and now on the IL. Syndergaard can’t stay healthy.

Tonight’s win was big. Understanding it’s needed and we went low to het this one.

You sit on your high horse now. Come October, throw that record out. Cora and the men will be ready.

I hate to say any game is huge in July but tonight if we can salvage a split (kiss that sister) then it’d be huge. Must flip the switch within the division at some point. Tonight would be a good time.

Agreed. Throws 100. Splitter is one of the best I've ever seen. Cy Young stuff.

Beautiful swing. Great power, great hit tool, and blazes on the base path. Doubt we see an all around player like him that dominates both to his degree again.

They may get the split. Tied with bases loaded and no outs.

Get Cora in a post-season series with Boone and Cora wins 8 of 10. Throw the records out the window. And Boone knows this, too. Cora all up in his head.
