Can you imagine the grief the pitcher got from his teammates after the game? lol

So I guess we’ve learned that if you’re going to fight another player, make sure it’s a White Sox.
Anderson was never the same after that. Not saying that’s what precipitated his fall from MLB but he looked like a rising superstar for a minute there.

Give me a Detroit v Milwaukee World Series, please.

On the heels of an OKC v Indiana NBA Finals? Yes.
As much as I'd love that I think my Tigers are running out of steam. They've been a very mediocre baseball team since Memorial Day. Too many injuries in the rotation and an extremely lackluster trade deadline to address it, bats have cooled off, bullpen is atrocious which is arguably the most important piece of the team come October.

I think it will be the Yankees/Mariners in the ALCS and that would be a toss-up, IMO.

Tigers have arguably the best pitching coach in MLB. That has paid dividends for the young staff.

I don't disagree but even he has had a tough time getting the replacements to Jobe, Olson and Mize (the latter who is back in the rotation but hasn't quite returned to pre-IL form) to live up to the billing.

The bullpen was one of the strengths of the team last year in that improbable post-season run, but many of the same names (Holton, Brieske, to name a couple) have seriously regressed this year. It's an absolute mess. I'm not blaming Fetter, and I really like our Prez of Operations Scott Harris, but they haven't really gotten aggressive at all to add to the young talent. They're 6-14 their last 20.

They're still one game back of the loss column for best record in the AL.

The good April and May is helping them cushion their lead in the Central, but they still have the best record against that division and are very good at home.

It's a long season. If they can bounce back in August from a rough July, they'll be firmly in the driver's seat in the Central and could have a shot at the best AL record.

I dislike the Yankees so much but damn if they don’t have a terrible coaching staff.

The number of errors in the field are amazing. Judge canceled out a lot of the issues, but with him on the injury list the problems have floated to the top. Still waiting on Hal to fire Boone.

Who needs enemies when you got teammates like this.

Valdez must be having a rough go of it lately? I know he got absolutely shelled against Detroit a couple of weeks ago. Pent up frustration is my guess. Can't be doing that to your own teammate. He tried to prevent you from throwing that pitch.

No rational fan thinks that was an accident. Valdez can say otherwise all he wants. What sucks is Salazar can’t retaliate b/c he’s the 3rd string catcher and knows the front office will DFA his ass if he starts trouble. Valdez is a proven entity so they won’t do anything to him. What needs to happen is the team leaders step up and address it in a closed door meeting before it festers and gets out of control.

From what I read, teammates confronted Valdez in the locker room after the game and there was plenty of yelling going on.

the Blue Jays have really good at bats. The Yankees are feast, famine, famine...its home runs or nothing. The bottom of the 6th was just LOL. walk (finally), big swing out, big swing out, big swing out.

Thanks. Does "Heard" mean yes in the US?

Damn, the umps have been bad lately.
My bad man. I just assumed that you were picking up what I dropped.

Yes, an umpire’s job is not easy. They all interpret the zone/corners differently. As a hitter (and I’d assume a pitcher), you just ask for consistency

That umpire from the Yankees v Astros serious (called a "dubious" no catch on McMahon to say the least) - I can't think of a worse umpiring / refereeing performance than his, ever.
Actually, probably some from the 1980s Australian cricket tour of India.

That was so bad when you consider they didn’t correct it on replay. Can’t wait for the ability to appeal balls/strikes next season. After watching it in ST, it was pleasantly surprising that it doesn’t delay the game as much as current replays.
