Can this team go 10-2? Yes. I expect them to. I thought the OL played a lot better, and I thought the defense played with more intensity than last week
You have really got to be exceptionally intoxicated. Put down the keyboard and back away very slowly…

  • Refs absolutely boned us on a few big calls — targeting and missed hold on last play.
  • I am shocked at the lack of pressure our defense is getting compared to last year. Our front is supposed to be a strength?
  • Catch a damn INT!
  • Is Christian Gray good?
  • Can we stop with the wildcat? We shouldn’t be running a gimmick offense in key situations.
  • WR development is officially a problem. When is the last time we had a receiver recruit live up to the hype? We bring in 4-star after 4-star every year and these guys seemingly disappear.

This one hurts. I have zero connections to the program and something is missing. I feel last years team was close and respected each other and had leaders. Something is missing. But DAMN, that 4th and Goal TD I wont ever forget. Something is missing in that locker room.

There is no way that’s the worse loss you’ve seen unless you started following half way through last season .
It’s the most recent worst loss! Hey we have two really close losses to what might be very good teams (we hope). 10-2 is still in the cards but giving up 500 yards offense at home with your backs against the wall sucks. Elko is better than Freeman as a coach he’s just not that shiny image we love to have. Give me an ugly granny from the Beverly hillbillies Lou Holtz over the perfect hairline and ND fancy gear. Quite the bummer on the must have hold. Too many field goals for us. This team can’t rely on this D. Only watched the highlights and pressure looked weak and tackling and coverage stunk. Do we really have an all American on this team besides LoVe and Price? Another sad avoidable int from Carr. Cant have those on such an easy throw. Since I didn’t watch the game (didn’t want to ruin my vacation) but looking forward to a breakdown of the game. Looks like we were outgained by a good 100 years. Who played good and who did not? Who coached good and who did not?

1. Their QB was the opposite of what was advertised. Not much running great passing.
2. The WR gap was immense.
3. Can anyone explain the why behind those direct snaps to Love?

Possibly the worst loss I've seen since following ND. And blaming Buchner is stupid. Get a big stop, just once.
No stop it. It’s disappointing but not the worst. Basically back the the Weiss, early bk years, where every big game we play is a classic that we come out on the short end.

Sucks but at least we had last year to remember. A season we can write off and hopefully enjoy, or at least survive without any real pressure either way.

Yea it sucks, but it is what it is. I know it won’t happen, but I hope we’re unranked going forward. It’s what we deserve.

The defense just sucks, no other way to sugar coat it.

I’ve got an idea, let’s all get together and get really drunk and talk politics. Who’s in?

I’ve said it already during the game so won’t beat a dead horse but it completely felt like a Charlie Weis game. No D, can’t execute a PAT, heart wrenching self inflicted loss.

Why didn’t Hobbs just pick that ball in the end zone on the last drive, btw. Catches like I swing a bat right handed.
Because the ball was thrown in traffic & in a split second it’s not as easy a pick as we assume

Letting Reed sit in the pocket and prove he can beat you with his arm was a good plan coming into the game.

Not fucking adjusting for 4 quarters when he fucking proved he can was indefensible.

As bad as this team played, if Golden is still DC this team is 2-0.

@IrishLax realistically, what is a timeline for pulling the trigger on either A. Canning Ash or B. Quietly taking play call duties away ala Parker?
Tbh I don't know, but I'm going to ask around on Monday. I doubt they publicly announce that they took duties away from him regardless but you're going to lose the locker room unless there are some changes of some sort.

The direct snap once is one thing but what 4-5 times really. They were already loading the box with love in the game.

Initially I had the same thought in real time but we don’t know the context. Didn’t something similar happen to Carson Beck last season & it turned out his teammate was trying to cheer him up w/ a joke or something?
Could of been, but I agree with Mike Frank on this one.

in college football today, season feels over. That’s what I’m most bummed about. I fully expect J. Love to shut it down at some point this season. He has too much money on the line at a brutal injury-riddled position

I was at Cal three years ago when they started 0-2. I’ll be at the Purdue game next week when they are 0-2. I didn’t imagine that in my wildest nightmares

The direct snap wasn't the problem, it was the personnel. They put Washington in as an extra blocker and went N-S and it was fine.
