They’re not all gonna be pretty, the left side of the OL had a rough night and the team as a whole had too many penalties. Leonard also was realllllly rough until towards the end of the game. Missed a lot of wide open guys and didn’t display a ton of touch.

But big positives:
-The defense is as advertised.
-Right side of the OL played very consistent all night.
-RBs made big plays when it mattered.
-WRs were pretty darn good when given the opportunity to make a play on the ball. They also consistently got open most of the night and ran way better routes than last year.
-Consistent field goal kicking.

Forward looking they just gotta get the left side of the OL figured out over the course of the season, hopefully by Louisville it’s passable.
I think you have to give the left side of the oline a pass for this game. They were in front of 107,000 people, on the road, in one of the toughest environments in college football, and we had 356 yards of offense with almost 200 yds rushing. They had 6 career starts coming into this game. Expecting more than what we got seems a bit unrealistic. I think that this oline will get a chance to gel over the next couple weeks.

In retrospect, it was a genius move that might payoff for years.

How about the strength and conditioning?????
Those 330 lb Texas boys were dropping like flies and cramping up.
Yeah, where are those A&M guys who were saying we were going to wilt with the heat and humidity.

Guys J Love and Price are so good.

A lot of their negative runs or runs for short gain, they’re dealing with contact before they can hit the hole. But once they do, their feet are so good. J Love especially has insane feet. Some of his runs tonight looked like he was in an agility ladder doing karaoke or some shit.

Might be our best DUO since Autry and Kinder. No italics.

They did exactly what we expected. Stunted the shit out of our left side. But when it mattered the boys put a drive together. Some basic miscommunications between Pendleton and Knapp (who was on the ground too often), but very coachable mistakes. Hell of a win in SEC country. I’m so damn pumped. Such a tough opener but the talent and potential are there.

100 yds in penalties that kept every one of A&M's drives going
Many missed plays and a wiped out 40+ yd run of Price's due to holding
A 4th & 1 that appeared converted, even to the booth but it wasn't overturned
Youngest OL I've ever seen as a fan
In College Station to start the year with an overhauled offense

ND is flying back with a 10 point win and 2 interceptions.

If Morrison and Watts are the present, then Shuler and Gray are the future.
The front 7 caused all kinds of havoc and played sound football.

This was a game you can build on.

Glad to finally be over the hump of finding ways to lose big games. I mean, we tried, but managed to pull it out in the end. Defense looks good. If the offense can even remotely figure shit out (where have I heard that before?) this team just might be able to make some noise this season. Jeter appears to be as advertised. Unfortunately, the Aussie not as much.
