Hearing good things about a certain QB prospect as well. Hopefully this gets the ball rolling on good off-season news. :)

Next years front seven

Lynch--Nix--Kappy

Shembo--Teo--4 man race--Spond

Kappy if healthy. Fox probably wins other MLB spot.

damn. Well, that just means he'll get it next year. He'll be a shoo-in after his fifteen sack, forty-tackle performance against scUM next year.

Never listen to women when it comes to business decisions. You made the right choice Manti.

LMAO totally agree, I was getting impatient with A lot of people posting that he was not coming back. I just had a good feeling about this one! Maybe I should take off my Florida State hoodie that I just realized I was wearing :X (Only wearing it because it has my school colors)

hell yeah! ND front 7 will be bringing the pain next season

I wonder how much of this went into his thinking. He will have the best overall dline in front of him next year in his career. That would be really fun to get to play along with and I'm sure someone made him aware of it in their recruiting efforts.

Last year, Kelly referred to Floyd as a 6 star recruit.

Well tonight, we just got a 7 star player.

THANK YOU MANTI!!

(Now back to studying for finals :( )

Awesome news. Manti is so unbelievably important to this team. Wonder if this helps us get any remaining LB prospects (Idenigbo, Spence, etc.). The idea of playing behind and learning from one of the best should be intriguing!

I think he made the best decision for the PROGRAM. Whether or not it is the best decision for him is yet to be seen.

This decision tells me the BK Navy week comment wasn't as big of a deal as it was made out to be. Manti was made out as the lynchpin of discontent that week, which I think raised doubt as to his future. He may have had a day or 2 of soul-searching, but he became a "Notre Dame man" the morning he committed to us over the Condoms 3 years ago. He was a 4 year man all along, even if he didn't always know it.

He's the favorite player of our household for a reason. Welcome home, Manti. Here's to a healthy and successful senior year.

This allows our other ILBs to develop for another year while learning from one of the best. More important than the talent he adds to the team, is his leadership. This is such a huge development.

I also hope this puts the "Kelly calling the team out" controversy to rest. Te'o's public reaction to the comments revealed his leadership and passion for this team and program. Kelly is a smart dude and I have no doubt that he used the situation as a challenge and teaching experience to inspire leadership rather than truly question it. Floyd and Te'o probably wouldn't have returned if they didn't like their coach.

I think we, and everyone looked to much into his tweets. From what he said" I'm only playin for my boys"...maybe he was getting ahead of himself and just playing for himself, thinking he was doing what he could to get to the NFL,but then realized his mistakes? I havn't heard this possibility brought up before.

btw....OMFG!!!! I AM SOOO HAPPY RIGHT NOW!!!!!

I'm with you....and since that's literally all I'll likely get for Christmas, I'll be a happy boy. ;)

Really good news if it holds up...I really thought after his response in an early presser this year regarding the booing, and then his response to BK calling everyone out...he'd be gone.

I'm glad I was wrong...he has great stats but its the stuff he does to OCs we don't see in the box that make him valuable...If we can get solid play on the other inside spot and on the edges, this should be a transformative year for the front 7

Kinda surprising tho. Just talked to one of my friends on the football team who I get a lot of info from and he was shocked. Manti apparently had told him he was leaving. Interesting twist... wonder what changed if thats true.

is there a video link to his announcement?

Notre Dame Fighting Irish's Manti Te'o to return for senior season - ESPN

I didn't find a video link but here is an article from a "credible" source. I'm not sure if anybody else has already posted it or not

I think this says a lot about Manti as a person, esp. after the whole mybook...I mean, facespace...I mean, tweeter ordeal and Kiper projecting him as the 13th overall pick.

I'm really not that surprised though, esp. since Manti forewent his mission trip to keep his education and cfb career uninterupted

Has anybody heard anything about Eifert???

Like many of you, I doubted Manti would enter the draft early. There is just nothing that I know about him that would lead me to suspect that he would go that way. Mind you that seemingly pissed off tweet did weaken my confidence a wee bit and as we all know there is no sure thing in these matters. All in all it is still nice to have a strong declaration from the man himself.
