Mine would be similar outside of Kizer and Trumbetti. This is also just who I think will start, not necessarily who I want to start.

Wooly, I've not heard much good about Trumbetti recently.

He might start though if Hayes isn't done with his boot/ankle sprain. ISD said Trumbetti is unnoticeable at practice on Monday.

Hayes is in a boot , but should be ready by Texas. The injury may put him behind Trumbetti temporarily

That's fine. I still think he will start. He has more experience and with Hayes walking around in a boot, he has plenty of time to solidify the position he earned last season. Just my thinking.

This is exactly what I would do. I'm interested to see if Boykin, Schmidt, or Hige get a lot of snaps, how they rotate Hayes/Trumbetti/Hayes, and whether Studsill gets on the field.

One of my complaints is lack of rotation, especially on defense. DO we think second string will get meaningful snaps if it is close? Looks more promising this year, although I still think they'll overplay the DL starters.

QB Zaire (yes)
RB Adams/Williams (yes)
WR Stepherson (a couple)
WR Boykin (yes)
WR ??? (yes, mostly 2nd TE)
TE Schmidt (yes, 3 will play)
LT ------- (no, but...)
LG ------- (no, but...)
C --------- (no, but...)
RG Hoge (50/50)
RT -------- (no, but...)

SDE Kareem/Bonner (no, at least not much at all)
NT Cage (yes)
DT Bonner (a few)
WDE Trumbetti (yes)
SLB Bilal (a few)
MLB Barajas (no)
WLB Coney (yes)
CB Coleman (a few)
CB Coleman (yes)
SS Sebastian (a few)
FS Studsill (50/50- if Max plays well, no)

I would like to see them all get on the field. I just always go back to the '12 title game and how Bama just rolled players in and out on us, all of them... knowing exactly what to do.

That's the kind of roster I want.

I have asked that question before about the lack of a rotation and have the younger players ready to play. I watch other teams go deep into their bench. Why we do not do that I am not sure and i am not saying at mop up time. Like against Nevada we should put them away with ease there should be a lot of subs. Why not have corners of like Coleman and White playing and Barajas should get quality minutes.

Yeah. There really is something to be said for a back-up to going 100% on a few plays. Our starters are clearly superior, but a kid going crazy with no fear of getting tired out is hard to handle even if his skill level is lower.

I think we are at that stage where our recrutiign is good enough to put a starting 22 out on the feild that can match up with anyone in the country. However, it is not good enough (due to some factors in the coach's control, and some outside), that there is a bigger drop off for us between first and second string.

In other words, very few teams can match up against our starters, but our second string is much closer to the pack. And because we are always playing motivated teams who give us their all, we need our starters to win.

Kizer and Zaire are both gonna start the game on the field. No RB in on the first play.

That's all I've got.

I would love to have them both come out in backfield but then have a direct snap to Cj Sanders in motion...

I will take that with some teams but you do not think our backups could not get a little more time against the Tech's, and Temple's last year.

I'm confused why people are so confident in knowing what we have? Is this 'on paper'? If so, I'd say Weiss had some great teams on paper. We have no idea what we have yet. We have a few proven players and two QBs who appear capable of playing winning football. No idea on defense. Our WRs are a gigantic question mark without a true speedster like we had last year.

Kizer was very good and I believe he has a good command of the offense but Will Fuller was always available when we needed a big play. That speed is gone, not be replaced by anyone on the current roster.

I just have a hard time going into Texas with any confidence. And most likely it'll take 3+ games before I start to really believe again.

Our 2nd team looks as capable as our first team except on DL/OL. Everything else appears to be a toss-up.

We know we have a great offensive line, two really good QBs and a stable of running backs. The defensive line has two proven run stoppers and the other two play solid against the run. They have a mike who can scrape and make tackles now. So we can run the ball and stop the run. I'll take it.

That happens when you have a population of people who only follow one team extremely closely. They become immune to how well other teams recruit and develop, and heaven forbid, turn some 3-stars into big time players. Look at FSU, OSU, Bama, LSU, Oklahoma, Clemson, USC's recruiting. It's scary compared to ours.

I believe in this team. Two great QB's. Probably the best left side OL in the country. 4 awesome RB's. Fantastic coaching. Really good depth everywhere but SS and SDE but without injury Tranquil and Rochell should be stout. A solid Mike (although we'll have to see it. A deep rotation af athletic, hungry LB's. A true leader/experienced/strong #1 CB....and a not so tough schedule. I like our WR's but like a lot of our team, they're unproven. This is just my take bit I have faith.

Apparently, out of media day it came out that Martini was starting at will. Is that competition really over and Coney is the backup, or was that a twisting of BK/Gorder's words?

I heard it was a twisting, I've been really hoping Martini wins hte job though.

I don't. Only because who's the backup Mike? Who's the back up Sam? I was hoping that'd be Martini. For Mike I'm guessing it'd be Barajas, but from all accounts that'd be bad news. And I honestly don't even know who the backup Sam is if not Martini. Will I'm not worried about with Coney > Martini > Bilal.

Looks like Martini would back up both Sam and Mike even if he starts at Will, so Coney would would be the first off the bench if any of the starters are injured.
