Song was a cancer and a piece of crap. Just get rid of him & get Sahin and another D-mid.

Can't say that I ever heard that about Song. On the field he was steel in the midfield and he was the one on the opposite end of the passes that led to a lot of RVP goals last year. Dude has great vision, hence Barcelona wanting him...

He wanted no part of being at Arsenal anymore. That's why he sold so quickly. Wenger wanted him the hell out. At least we are about to sign Sahin.

Any Arsenal fans on Twitter need to follow @AFCAMDEN. I'm not sure who he is but he has a bunch of inside information and has called every move this off-season so far.

The best talent gets sold and little is gotten in return (15M pounds for your best defensive midfielder...wtf?). All the while, players like Bendtner, Arshavin, Chamakh, Squillaci, etc are all still with the club! Get rid of the low hanging fruit and maybe you could keep your best players (or...and this is really crazy...throw the ridiculous Arsenal pay structure out the window and adapt to the new football world around you). Or at the very least, invest the money made from Song and RVP for quality defender and/or a quality center forward.

Crazy that their best player (by far IMHO) was Santi Cazorla. Obviously I'm a Spanish homer, but man, he looked like a mini Xavi (actually, Xavi is already so damn 'mini' I dont think it can get more mini than him LOL) out there for the Gunners today. That last pass to the Frenchman was insanely bright (and a GREAT run by the Frenchman who then butchered the shot). He was the only player for Arsenal outside of Junihno (butchering the name, I know) who showed any imagination. Disappointing game for them.

On a side note, crazy how Mata and Cazorla can basically run their traditionally rich EPL teams and can barely sniff playing time for their Spanish national team. Insane run of talent right now for Spain...it's gonna really suck when it inevitably comes to an end...

Agree completely with both of you. First, toss the wage structure, adapt OR DIE, get rid of the low level mess, and keep your best players. Done and done, Arsene. Oh and fire Ivan Gazidis. He blows.

And LA - Cazorla was awesome. He was all over the field and really to me felt like the only player that held it together for Arsenal. Podolski struggled, and we saw limited minutes from Giroud, so who knows.

I think with Arsenal, we'll know the full strength of the team if they bring anyone in to replace Song, get Wilshere and Chamberlain back, and the team starts to gel. Or at least I hope so or it's going to be a long season.

To be fair I think Giroud and Podolski will get more comfortable as the season goes on and when they play a team that is actually trying to play soccer instead of prevent a goal. Now that the Song & RVP mess is behind them they can move on, hopefully grab a solid D-mid to go along with Sahin. There's almost no way Arsenal can have as bad of a start as they did last year either. And Arsenal is still better than Tottenham!

I agree... I wonder if we could perhaps negotiate to keep Sahin, he's a good player for sure. I think that once the new guys gel, and we get the Ox and Wilshere back, the team will be right back in top 4 contention. Remember last year, and how awful the start of that season was?

I do think that Arsene has to be a bigger player in the transfer market in future seasons, and by that I mean getting the top brass at Arsenal to stop letting our OWN players leave. I love the additions this year, especially Cazorla. I guess time will tell haha.

And no matter what, any day of the week, for any game, we're better than Spurs. I'll leave it at that to avoid a nice profanity laced rage haha. I always just think of Spurs as the hillbilly Walmart Wolverines to our Gunners.

Arsenal last won a trophy in 2005...the F.A. Cup.

Spurs won the Carling Cup in '08.

Sadly, Arsenal has been making plenty of money, but they aren't winning anything. That's the problem with modern football. You pretty much have to go into debt in order to win. Arsenal has a great business model, but they won't win anything or keep any players if they can't win silverware. Spurs will be back out of contention for the CL in a few years.

I am honestly not all that well versed in players that do not play in England, Scotland, here at home or are well known International players… but I have followed Eden Hazard very closely for a number of years despite his playing in a league I would never normally pay attention to…

Chelsea picking him up could be the biggest move no one really talked about… this kid is flat out for real.

They certainly were 'lacking creativity'.... they played well until the final attack, and then it was just ... blah.
