Jjust went to let my dogs in from the deck and my grill rolled by me. Wind blew it clear across the deck. Scared the sh*t out of my little dog. It's getting ugly.

Just spoke with my brother in Rhode Island. About a foot of snow so far and 60+ mph winds. He says they could get up to another 2 feet. Wow!

Oh yeah, all roads in the state of Mass have been ordered closed by the Governor. Assuming all state roads, highways and such but that is unheard of. Not sure what the situation is in RI. Got some friends riding snowmobiles on main roads down there. No one out to give them any grief about it.

Wow, what a night. Just let the dogs out after breakfast. Wind is absolutely howling. 2-3' drifts everywhere and lots of snow yet to fall.

Glad you're hanging in. You must have a big dog, or doggie snow shoes?!

Saw a picture just now where someone had opened their back door and the snow was piled up 3' or so with a perfect imprint of the door in he drift.

Hang in there!

Watching CNN this morning and they're showing how bad you guys out east got dumped on. That's a lot of snow! My friends and family in Rhode Island have been without power since about 9:30 last night, so they're using gas ranges to keep warm. I hope you guys all made it through safe and sound.

@me2southbend - Stay safe, dude. Sounds like you have a good handle on the situations.

Weird question for you. I have a flight that I am suppose to make tomorrow afternoon to Portland, ME. Do I have a chance in hell of making it? Thanks.

I would say its a toss up at this point. The flight may very well be able to get in the question then would be where are you trying to get from the airport. I'll post some pics in a bit but we have 30" on the ground here and I have 4' drifts across my driveway. who ever you are coming to meet with may not be able to get to you.

Thanks. I have to work downtown and then on Tuesday drive to Vermont. As long as I can get to my hotel and get downtown, i'm good. I'm bummed with the timing of this, because I was really looking forward to seeing the city and doing some sightseeing. Oh well.

Easy cab ride from airport to downtown. Hotels should be fine downtown if you already have reservation. I'll buzz a buddy of mine who is Dir of Ops at airport see what he knows for scheduling.

Flights are coming in, unless you're connecting through Laguardia, JFK or Logan you s/b fine. PM me if you want, if I'm around I'll take you to a good spot for a beer. If your hours are odd and you need to head out solo check out RiRa or Gritty McDuffs downtown. If you like seafood, check out Gilberts Chowder House for Clam Chowder in a bread bowl (don't worry about the Vegan thing while you're here) or Jay's Oyster House ( both are right on the water and within walking distance to all of the downtown hotels). A short cab ride out of the Old Port (downtown Portland) will get you to the Great Lost Bear where you will find 50 beers on tap. Not Bud, Miller lite, etc. but rather good micro brews. Great little spot w good atmosphere. If your budget and time allows, go to the Royal River Grill House in Yarmouth for dinner. Another Water Front (Flows to the ocean) restaurant w great food and drinks. Approx 15 minutes north of downtown Portland. Pretty easy to get to but the GPS is always helpful. Let me know if you need any help navigating your way around. Enjoy and safe travels.

Thanks for the info Me2. Looks like my flight is still on time. I will only be in Portland for two nights, so I will let you know if I free up. If so, I will consider it my mission to buy you a beer.

Not a huge amount of snow coming here, but we're going to get a mix of snow and rain all day Sunday and then the temperature is going to plummet. Monday looks like a high of 5 and a low of 0.
