As Lax has mentioned before, Michigan discovered the scheme on their own and did nothing about it themselves, allowing it to continue into the 2023 season. That's already pretty dang bad as far as the NCAA goes. The other thing is that they refused to cooperate with the NCAA.
It's really a bad look overall for scUM. Charges of ineligible players due to compensation are harder to justify in the current climate. Directly cheating, knowing about it, and refusing to address it, let alone acknowledge it when the NCAA and Big Ten confronted you? That's something else entirely. Some of the plugged in guys are doubtful like many here, but others think the hammer is about to drop. Think tons of vacated wins from 2021-2023 and the NCAA not acknowledging the Big Ten titles or CFP title. Oh and let's not forget that the Big Ten is pretty well motivated to no longer acknowledge those titles either.
