IE is the best moderated forum I've ever used, and I know we're all glad for it. The mods are appreciated.

NDinLA is well within his rights to delete posts containing terms he deems to be offensive. However, when asked about it, he ought to tell the affected poster(s), "I find the word "p***y" to be offensive, and will continue to delete posts containing it in the future." No one likes being reprimanded, so some sort of clarity as to what terminology is beyond the pale should be provided.

NDinLA's response of "If you don't like it, you can GTFO", and BGIF's in the same vein, weren't helpful.

We all appreciate a well-moderated board, but when posts start getting deleted, the mods owe a brief and clear explanation of why they were deleted, and how posters should better comport themselves in the future... hopefully without the vitriol.

I completely agree with you and appreciate your posting it. I began to write something similar, but had actual work that took me away from it. I love this site the majority of the time. I think for the most part it is well moderated. I don't appreciate childish posturing and chest thumping from a moderator. That's not what they are not paid to do and I think we'd all be better off if the Jr. moderator's would lay down the sash.

WHAT? First of all they are not paid, and they are the best moderators out there. If you OR anyone else feel they can do a better job send a PM to Pham...and apply for the job.

How exactly did I bully you? Did I yell? Did I beat you up? Put a gun to your face? Please explain. I simply offered many more sites for you to post where you can try and find a home, because you completely overreacted to a post I deleted. Let me ask you this...you guys both saw each other's posts, right? It was talking between TWO people, correct? It nothing to do with Shaq, and it contained a word that the admin wouldn't want on this site, correct? OK, since BOTH of you saw it, what is the big deal??? Do you need the attention of everyone seeing it? It wasn't on topic, it was a cuss word, and you both saw it and got reps for it. What am I missing here?

Dude, all you really have to do is PM is jpham and complain about the language filter. Then complain to him about me doing my 'job'. And incidentally, I didn't delete political views that I disagreed with, I didn't delete religious views I disagreed with, I didn't delete football views I disagreed with. I deleted a one-word post that some people on tis site find offensive (personally I don't, but I understand why some people do), that really, wasn't a big deal. But now I'm a 'bully' LOL. Whatever. In the grand scheme of things, this means jack squat and I'm glad I have a 'go with the flow' attitude toward life.

Seriously...muchado'boutnothin.

As opposed to a serial killer I think of it more like the movie wyatt earp in Dodge City...the sign says no profanity! If you try to carry your profanity in IE city then your post will get pistol whipped. Its no big deal just follow the rules. Lol
BGIF at times is very dry, but is also a knowledgeable contributor. If you don't like it, stay within the rules and avoid his posts...

Ha ha...'sash'. 'Jr. Moderator'. Any more slights you want to throw out there. Read my post above. Mountain out of a molehill.

A little history lesson son: Before jpham took over, and assigned BGIF, myself, HTCI, Polish, etc as moderators, this place was dead. DEAD. There were no mods that gave a rip, and the site turned to crap. It got to the point where dudes would just call other members 'fags' and completely rip recruits to shreds, recruits threads would dissolve into beer or food topics, among many other things, and everything was honky-dory. At a time like this, there would MAYBE be 30 people on the site. Goldhelmet and DomerDomain was killing this site, and rightly so. Way more members, way better topics, way better threads.

In stepped jpham and BGIF, who essentially saved the site. Right now there are 340 people on this site (in the offseason when NOTHING is going on). There are 118 people on domerdomain, and 34 people on goldhelmet. I'm not great at math but that's a pretty big jump. So yes, people (the majority, not all) enjoy the way the site is run now. It's overwhelmingly positive, but it's not for everyone. Throwing the word 'pussy' (again - I'm not offended, but many are) around is not something the admin is going to budge on, so I showed Wooly some other sites that might be good with that. There was no maliciousness on my part, but of course he overreacted.

Complain all you want. That's fine. Why not first do it in a PM? Then if you don't get your way, bring it to the board. And then just leave if you don't like it. For the life of me, I'll never understand why people go anywhere that they hate or even disagree with the rules. There's tons of sites out there, or if anything, go fly a kite or play checkers or read a book with your wife or something. But getting bent out of shape and calling people out (instead of a simple PM) over a simple thing on a friggin' website? Sorry, I just don't get that.

I'm afraid you still aren't understanding. I have a moment now. I don't have time overall to moderate a college football forum and at this point I'm afraid I've run out of time to dedicate to you.

You are correct...I don't unserstand what "sweepy" means...does it mean to sweep?
