I felt the same way at first, but as a news aggregator, it's unmatched. Follow the sources for things that interest you-- Notre Dame football, for instance-- and you'll get instant updates on everything. It's quite helpful.

I don't do any tweeting myself. One has to be remarkably self-absorbed to think anyone would care about the mundane crap that constitutes most people's day-to-day. But that doesn't mean twitter is useless.

Oh no I totally agree with that. I love twitter for the instant information flow. We're saying the same exact thing. I think it's weird only when regular dudes go around tweeting at celebrities/athletes all day or tweeting crap like "meatloaf for dinner" or "bird just pooped on my car #gross."

You all are being a little too harsh on the kid. Saying "so gay" to Robby Toma wasn't a shot at him...the two still are great friends and keep in touch constantly. When Shaq came back to ND to visit last spring (IIRC) he stayed with Robby. College age kids always poke fun of each other. Besides, that tweet by Robby was pretty gay. He still keeps in touch with all the Notre Dame guys especially those that were in his recruiting class. And, if you remember, he made the decision to come to Notre Dame after his visit on one of those "Feels Like Home" feelings recruits always talk about. From day one, it's pretty obvious he was doubting himself being in South Bend.
