Arkansas is probably the 13th best team in the SEC. They've got some talent offensively and Petrino is certainly capable of scheming up something to expose Ash, but they aren't that good of a team. Notre Dame will have better players all across the field. Sure, there will be some points (as I don't trust Ash and Arkansas's defense looks pretty bad), but Notre Dame pulls away in the 2nd half. 45-24 Irish.
That is a tad bit misleading. Haha
Almost the entire conference is power rated as top 30 teams in the country.

FPI has them currently ranked 25th by thier metrics.
They just narrowly lost to two possible playoff teams in Ole Miss and Memphis
Both those games on the road.

This is going to be a very tough game for the Irish.

SP+ has Arkansas projected as winner by (2) (Not great)
Feels like this will likely be a sharp play for Pro's at Arkansas +6 to +6.5 range and I'm sure the public will back ND.

Will certainly feel more confident come noon on Saturday if #15 is deemed healthy and out there playing every snap for the defense.

SP+ has us losing and the line has moved down to 5.5

FWIW Connelly has us exactly one spot ahead of Arkansas. The 2 point favorite is just home field advantage he’s using.

- Hobbs is not on the Nickel Depth Chart. An “Or” with Chance Tucker…..

- Tae as lead Field Safety. No “Or” designation

Not sure what they had last week

Last week had Hobbs behind Smith at Nickel, Stroman ahead of Tae.

Freeman’s tangent about the defense imo says all you need to know. They don’t see eye to and it’s going to be a rough season on defense. Of course this is my opinion.

I have it on good authority that this was Ash during the defensive staff meeting.

Crazy that he finished the game against A&M and might not play 2 weeks later.
I’m sure his ankle was super swollen the next day and the inflammation/tightness is the problem at this point. Hopefully the therapy he gets will reduce that this week. I’d bet he plays.

Freeman is the man, quite honestly. This response has me fired up.
Seeing the defense looked more like its old self later in the Purdue game along with the comment about the defensive meeting tells me this isn't going to be quite as close as the predictors think.

Under 2 hours later:

I’ll be honest I laughed out loud.
Well not putting a spy on a guy whose averaging 90 yards a game rushing is just dumb, if we didn't it against A&M why wouldn't we do it against ARK?

Right? He doesn't average 90 yards on scrambling off pass plays. They're not going to just forget him on a read option.

He doesn't want to repeat A&M by taking a guy out of coverage or rushing(with lane integrity) - sitting back, too passive, and getting fucking torched for 360 yards on 17 completions. Arkansas throws for 325 a game already.

Continuing to play in the game you got hurt in, but can’t play 7 or 14 days later? Literally makes zero sense.

Not all rushing yards are scrambling yards. Arkansas does designed QB runs/options. Arkansas is a run first football team.
