Ironic because Compton badly wanted to come to ND.

That’s why he is the way he is, Charlie dicked him around until the last couple weeks before NSD. He’s said ND was his dream school but he was treated poorly. In reality, ND filled up on better talent in Steve Filer, Darius Fleming, Anthony McDonald, and Pozluzny.

Any other boots on the ground reports about Gameday setup and atmosphere?

How many times is ESPN going to mention that we haven’t beaten Ohio State since 1936? So far I’ve heard it twice and I’ve only been watched sporadically. Let’s ignore how few times they’ve played in those years.

I'm not watching but that is bizarre. We didn't play them in the ~50 year period when we were good. They've been better since the mid-90s, when we started playing again.

I dont really mind. They are doing a narrative building thing. If the Irish win tonight they'll mention 1936 many many times

Some people on other boards are saying they're surprised at how many OSU fans are there. Hoping that's not the case.

he’s a stereotypical meathead who ain’t that bright. I doubt anyone takes him seriously. Gillis put him in his place.

The issue with barstool for me is that they promote this type of anti intellectualism. Like it’s cool to be ignorant or something. I’ve never understood it

I believe seat geek or one of those sites projected 40%. So it’s going to be a sea of red. Sadly, ND doesn’t do much to prevent this recurring issue.

If that ends up being the case then the wine and cheese fans who make a habit of selling their tickets for big games (UGA, Nebraska, Cincy, etc.) should never be allowed to get tickets for the big games ever again.

ND sells them on the secondary market, too. It would be pretty hypocritical (although rather appropriate from ND) to take privileges away for something they themselves are doing.

Spoke to someone who said the faculty are a problem selling their tickets

I’m predicting big games for Mills, Rubio, and Onye. I have a feeling they’re going to be very disruptive tonight.

They always have been. Haven’t been out there regularly the last few years, but my family and extended family’s go-to move was buying off faculty going back to the early days of Stubhub. Anecdotally know of a lot of others at least back in the day who would as well.

I think the issue is less on the Alumni. As the husband of an alum, she’d never sell those tickets to anyone but family or friends that are ND fans if she had them. I know enough of them that it wouldn’t be hard to do. We don’t usually get tickets other than 1 game a year. Someday I’ll get season tickets and go to all home games. I’d rather take a loss than sell to an opposing fan.
