Why are they airing it downfield??? Kelly is such an @sshole.

I like it. Get the second team going and teach the young players how to stomp a lesser opponent. I personally wouldn't mind seeing them put 100 on B.C.

Really like what I saw from Deon. Quick acceleration and small target.

The team did a lot better in 2nd half. We need to clean up our passing game though. We are too one dimensional.

Tony Jones was being carted around under the stadium. Unsure on injury, but left cleat off. Not upbeat look on his face

scuttlebutt will be ineffective passing game.

I didnt mean to word that in a negative fashion....but Bryan Driskell took it that way. Let me rephrase: What needs the most improvement....pass game or secondary?

Remember that Sparty QB Lewerke is supposed to be able to pick apart secondarys wuth his accuracy.

I dont know how Wimbush finished the game with a big broad smile on his face but good on him. Really good second half on his part.
I would have been using the garbage time to get ESB some catches.

Because he is a 20 old kid who just got his first road win as a QB at ND. He should be smiling.

Great numbers.... but, this team can put up video game numbers once BW slows his game down and reads the field..

We're a 7 win team if passing doesn't get much much better. Decent teams will Georgia us and stop the run.

A win's a win. Our defense played stout. And the running game was ridiculous, especially in the second half. But I'd be curious to know the last time we scored that many points and only threw for 96 yards.

I don't have enough time nor the desire besides saying, a game has 4 quarters and Tony Rice threw for 100 ypg at a 50% clip.

I don't necessarily disagree with you but Tony Rice played nearly 30 years ago.

Kelly said something in his postgame presser along the lines of "We didnt know what the offense would be with BW, now we do."
Sooooooooo........... triple option?

Update from Sampson

Tony Jones got an X-ray on his left ankle. Came back clean. Positive news.

Wow, really? Saw a good chunk of his 2 games this year. I would say more ok to good but not what you wrote.

Well, you have a short memory then. Also, Rice played almost 30 years ago. Tell me the last team to win a championship with a 50% passer?

For reference even Vince Young and Cam Newton completed well over 60% of their passes in their championship seasons. 50% completion percentage doesn't cut it against good teams, it makes you one dimensional and it makes it easier for the defense to shut down the run game.

ETA: Even Nick Marshall completed 59.4% and 60.8% in his 2 years at Auburn. 50% is Denard Robinson territory.

This is a hell of a thing for a coach to say in game 3.

I mean it makes sense. You adjust to the players you have. Coaches thought the offense was going to be able to be run through BW throwing from the pocket, but now we see that's not going to work. So fewer straight throws and more speed options. Going into the season we didn't want BW to run more than a few times a game, but that's probably going to be a bigger part of the offense.

Yeah. I think most people would have looked at our (apparently) big-armed QB and our stable of (apparently) competent receivers and thought we would be throwing a lot. But if it turns out we're better off with RPOs and a steady diet of Adams (and Dex?) up the middle, OK. Whatever gets the job done.

What I agree with BK on. The team certainly exerted their will over the course of 4 Qtrs. On BC. Wore them down and punched them out. That is a huge positive in relation to last year.

What I don't agree on. He can't keep acting as if the QB issues don't exist. There is absolutely no reason to blame a receiving corp, that can't possible touch some of these passes. Them to say, we need to make some of those plays, just causes division.
