Why the hell did we not run the clock down on the FG attempt

Also why did we sqib the ball when we could have kicked it out of the endzone.

GAIII made a nice return to set us up at the 35 also on that last drive. Ugly but 2-0 baby!!!! We probably don't win that game last year.

I think Golson doesn't make that drive so I will credit Kelly and Tommy for doing what it took.

This game should be a wake up call. Purdue is a decent team but we got handled most of the game. The defense was huge today especially with all of the injuries.

Ugly game. Golson played really well and I love watching him but our offensive line looked pretty terrible. Zeke Motta looked a lot better too. Tuitt is definitely in the middle of an All-American caliber season. Punt blocking is still atrocious. Does anybody know anything about the statuses of Davaris, Kap, and Jamoris?

For such a crappy game, have to say seeing Tommy come in and manage a nice drive to win leaves a pretty good feeling. You can't but wish that guy a nice moment. .... as long a golson is still starting. And frankly, I don't think that Golson could have got the job done with no timeouts and 2 minutes to go. PU was playing tough. I think going out and not making it happen would have been harder on him then getting pulled for series. He probably learned a ton just watching Rees on that drive.

I'm just happy we won. Thats all that matters. No matter who's in at QB. We won. Some of us need to remember why we are ND fans. Hoping for a loss because of who is in at QB is unacceptable. Tommy is on OUR team. When he's in, we should support him. Every one of those kids deserves our support. Go Irish!

He threw on first down to stop the clock and then ran the quaterback who maybe has 10-15 total carries in his career. Not smart game management.

We knelled the ball on 2nd down to get to the middle of the field.

Third down we clock it with exactly 11 seconds left. How does this make any sense at all. Why wouldn't we run the clock down to 2-3 seconds to make the fg attempt the last play.

And NBC did an awful job of keeping us informed as to who was hurt and what their injuries were. Where's Dockery when you need him?

I think ND needs to see how fast they can get their plays in and try to put pressure on MSU on the outside in the run game. Use Wood and Riddick and get Carlise in the game at the same time and just keep going as fast as you can. If you can get up on MSU by a 2 touchdowns it will force Maxwell into a lot of mistakes and no more Bell. They can't pull this gameplan out next week.

Totally disagree. Should have run the clock down, it was fourth down, right? The FG attempt should have been the end of the game. I don't see any QB controversy at all, we will have to live through growing pains wit EG but we had a chance to win the game and a guy that is a little further along with making quick reads and protecting himself, and aligning the offense. I see no point in not using your more veteran guy. It's a team win and EG should not let it affect his confidence just like it shouldn't affect Tommy's that EG gives us the best chhance moving forward. It is all part of being a teammate on a team.

Just my opinion, but the offense was out of sync and needed something. I thought Golson played great too and I'm glad he's starting.

You do what you gotta do to get the W! Anybody whining about winning a game needs to exit right. I've been a fan my whole life of this team win lose or draw! If you don't like winning a game or support every single player on this team don't let the door hit you where the good lord split ya! This is a young team and is gonna take some lumps, either support them and be a true fan or get a BAMA hat!

Keep in mind what those numbers Golson put up even with literally no rushing attack as well...our o-line needs to step its game up
