Alcorn State vs. Georgia Tech - Game Recap - September 3, 2015 - ESPN

Marshall, the younger brother of Georgia running back Keith Marshall, scored on a 49-yard run with his first handoff and followed with a 64-yarder late in the third quarter. Both plays were nearly identical, the newcomer from Raleigh, N.C., taking a handoff over center and racing untouched down the middle of the field, no one close to him.

I didn't know Keith's younger brother was part of Coach Johnson's running attack. Actually not pleased to find that out; for purely selfish reasons (his bro can ball, so most likely....)

This will be the test of Tillery and Cage. If they cant stop that FB, we lose. This is the same coach that gutted ND back in Chuckle's day when noone could stop the FB.

Do you guys expect Grace in this game as one of the switch out/physical games or do you see Schmidt playing all game?

I expect Schmidt but he did not do well against a few cut blocks he had against UT. Needs to do a much better job at staying upright and putting himself in position to make a play.

He'll probably be more prepared against GT but it was fairly poor against UT.

BTW, did anybody see their FB breaks those long runs last week. He has some wheels for being a bowling ball. Can't give him a crease or he's gone.

my neighbor (a GT alum) has been telling me since last season ended that their running attack could actually be better this year than it was last year. Lost a lot, but several fast kids.

I'll be there thanks to Texbender!! thanks again TB

per above, we have to be on our game and tackle. what do you think the D line-up will look like against these guys? D play calls will be a whole lot different IMO.

We only have 1 game of evidence, but I think everyone and their grandmother would take ND's defense and coaching this year over ND's "defense" and "coaching" in 2007. Tech may be a lot better than Navy, but we're A LOT better than that utter embarrassment of a 2007 team.

Horrible, horrible game for Kizer to get his first start. I do not envy the team playing Paul Johnson's GT team after the way things went today. What rotten luck.

Defense needs to get their heads right... This is their game, always was... Still is. They will win or lose it.

I'm way more confident in our front seven than our secondary so this could be okay...

How the hell did this happen btw? Our DBs looked like the thing we could lean on coming in... To add to your point tho, our pass rush is still eh... But our muscle is great, so yeah...

I am going to this game and couldn't be less excited with Malik now hurt. I don't have any faith in the defense's ability to stop GT's running game. Always thought we were going to have to outscore them.

This might be the jolt our defense needed....

They had 8 players today with 35+ yards rushing and 6 different players ran the ball into the end zone. Of course, this was against a bad Tulane team...so take it for what it's worth. I think the Irish D has done a great job so far against the run, so I'm not as worried about this game as I am about USC and Clemson. If the D does their job and the O can keep from turning the ball over...the Irish can win this game by playing smart football!!!

If there is a god, I am willingly giving him the finger right now. There's no way that any team should be this unlucky over the last 3 seasons, and yet, ND has had more major injuries than any team in college football.

And we haven't even played a team yet with the style that typically causes more injuries.

I'm not expecting a lot of knee injuries next week. I don't think GT cut blocks the way Navy does. They're stronger up front and don't need to.

Hmm, I don't know I like GT and watch them often enough... They seem to cut black a lot to me, tho I've never watched them specifically for that.

I will be extremely surprised if we can keep this one close. They are fucking tough. I've been around alot of guys that have played against Paul Johnson coached teams, and the one word they use to describe his teams is "violent". Not a good stylistic matchup for the nice guys on this team.

I'll defer to your expertise then. I don't watch them all that often, just a few games a year, but I was under the impression Navy uses it a lot more because of their size disadvantage.
