Football has been around for 150 years everything has been done, it's like music. You take someone else's idea and turn it into something slightly different. Pachelbel's Canon becomes Don't Stop Believing and everything else (see Axis of Awesome). Find some shit that has worked for similar teams in the past and do it, bro.

It's funny you mention that. I've always thought these multimillion dollar coaches try and pretend they are so much smarter than the rest of us to justify their bloviated salary. That it takes years to learn a playbook of 500 plays. Football isn't that complicated.

I equate it to the lawsuit against Ed Sheeran a couple years back that claimed he stole someone else's music. He proceeded to show how you can play almost all of the past 30 years of pop songs using the same 4 guitar chords.

Simple stuff. Just like football.

Both backs should combine for 35 carries. That’s the only game plan going foward. They need an identity.

Agreed, 20 carries for Price ,15 for Love (also should try to get another 5 touches in passing game), Leonard another 10 rushes should be the running game goal every week.

Leonard throws it around 20 times a game.

I hope for that type of play mix going forward as the Oline keeps getting better.

Same here. After the TA&M game, I was so thrilled and looked forward to watching every game with excitement on the way to a 12-0 or an 11-1 season with a deep dive into the playoffs. That all went up in smoke. Notre Dame football is a bitch. I am so done with Notre Dame football that I don't intend to renew my subscription to Irish Envy.

My prediction to start the season was 11-3. 10-2 regular season with one “what the fuck” loss, squeak into the playoffs, shockingly win a playoff game, then lose to georgia something like 38-3 in the second round.

Two notable things about this scenario:

1) it’s still possible
2) it would get coach Marcus undying loyalty

Most of the teams we play have started 2-0 or 1-1 but there’s a slight change we could get in at 10-2 but would need some crazy stuff to happen we would most likely need A&M to go 10-2 or 9-3 and need UL and USC both to be good finishing 10-2 or 11-1
