Michigan has a lot of question marks. We look like a far superior team on paper.

That being said, I fully expect a close game. I refuse to believe we can stomp Michigan until I actually see it happen.

With the exception of 2008 I can't remember the last time we STOMPED them. That game was actually closer than the score indicated, it's always a close game with them. I would love to not lose anymore hair over a Michigan game this year though.

As a fervid Notre Dame fan and Ohio State student, I do not hate any team more than Michigan.

I am friends with Patrick Omameh--a true gentleman by every measure, but good Lord I cannot stand a third loss to these ****ers.

I have a lot of friends who are big Michigan fans and I have been so sick of hearing the constant trash talk about how they have beat us the last couple of years.

I can not take a third straight year with a lost to Michigan. Would love to go into AA under the lights and lay the smackdown on the wolverines.

Biggest game of the year IMO.

Ditto! I'd take 5 losses in a row against U$C over 1 loss to those scUM Bastages!

This is the most important game of the year for me personally. Anyone going to be up there for it? I'll be there. If anyone wants to meet up before the game and do some tailgating I'll be bouncing around from house to house and tailgate to tailgate. I would love to defend NDs honor up there in AA with some fellow Irish Envy brothers and sisters!

Totally agree. Its not just been loses, but painful loses.

2006- Beat down that brought us down to Earth
2007- pass- we were too bad to care
2008- pass- they were too bad to care
2009- The only game (including USC 2005), that I actually consider stolen from us
2010- The QB game (Crist injury/Ineffective backups/ First look at unique player: Robinson)

I really like our chances this year and I like so many others feel this is the most important game of the season. We need a big win here IMO. A solid win against UM at Ann Arbor would really help with positive momentum for the season. Bottom line is winning football games is a must and we owe UM for the past couple of years. It's our turn.

Game is close until Lynch blind-sides Robinson in the 2nd quarter. Robinson leaves the game with two broken ribs and a grade I concussion. Irish romp thereafter.

How's that for a kick in Denards?

In my mind this is the most important game of the year. Setting a tone for the season by beating Michigan under their own lights would be spectacular. My opinion on this might have something to do with the fact that I'm a medical student at Michigan (most of my classmates are Michigan fans) and that I really need this W for my pride. I'll be tailgating hard and then screaming until my voice is gone at the game. I seriously cannot wait.

Found out today that I will more than likely be tailgating the for this and may snag a ticket from a friend who sadly is a Michigan fan (how magnanimous haha).

I will probably light myself on fire if the Irish find another way to give this game away.

The early line on this game was UM -2. Fast forward to today and no one is betting Michigan. I am guessing that by kick off for this game ND will be a TD favorite.

The last two games vs. us this has been the favorite game plan for forum posters, please think of a new plan.

Correction, last year that was def the game plan. 2 years ago, the game plan was to score 40+ points and embarress the hell out of you guys. LOL. Instead some punk A$$ kid named Tater nuts spoiled our day with his 4th qtr comeback. Really dont feel bad for that little prick. I mean, it was his choice to not attend class. How hard is it to just pick yourself up and go to class.

Anyone know if the rumor that College Gameday will be in Ann Arbor for this game is true?

Makes sense being a night game with Hoke in his first year and the Irish on the rise.

I would bet money on gameday showing up in AA for this game. Its the strongest match up of week 2. Plus, Desomnd Howard is supposed to receive an award or something at the game. So he has to be in AA for that. Granted I know in the past gameday hosts are in one state in the morning and then fly to another game during the afternoon, but chances are very high that gameday will be there.

I would be more worried about your game plan than ours if I was you, the "give Denard the ball and let him go" has not worked to well for you guys. Congrats on the last two victories, enjoy them, they may be the last ones you get for quite some time.

How has it not worked well for us? Perhaps you are confusing Denard for our defense, or lack there of. It's ok, I understand, it's been a long off season.

I was referring to the overall success of your season, did you miss the part where I said congrats on your last two victories?

Hence you needing to worry about your own game plan, it will not work just giving him the ball and letting him go.

and my comment still applies, our defense didn't do us any favors, Denard did. And no, I didn't miss your congrats; thanks, I enjoyed them.

502 yards of total offense, sorry but that **** just works. If it came down to one player changing the course of a game, it would be him.

And so does mine, based of off last season I would say you need a better game plan be it offensively or defensively. One guy, no matter how good obviously can't do it all.

an average yards per game of: 488.69
with a total of: 6353

No, our offence was just fine. Our D put us in the worst starting positions of most of D1, and we couldn't kick field goals unless it was really an extra point was the issue.

The question really isn't whether or not Denard Robinson is a great player... because he is. The question that was being raised is whether or not a team can really be successful if they put their entire offense on the back of one player. I was incredibly impressed by Denard's performance last year, but it would be idiotic to not acknowledge that he was lucky that he didn't end up injured. He's a tough kid, but if he had gone down last year your season would have taken an enormous turn for the worse. This, I think, was Irish fan's point. If a team's entire game plan revolves around a player that is running the ball 20-25 times/game (and isn't built like a running back) then one bad hit ruins a season not just for that player but for the whole team.

The upside of all of this for Michigan is that it seems that Brady Hoke realizes this. He will use Denard's talents but won't center his entire game plan around Denard's running ability. RichRod may not have had another choice, but it is wise for Brady Hoke not to put all of his eggs in one basket.

We didn't have a back to go to, hence the recruiting of Hart :)'(), Hayes (sorry), and Rawles (SP?). I think RR wanted to take the load off of Denard, but didn't have a Slaton to his White.
