I think he just needs to get the jitters out/get in a groove. The plays being called aren't really playing to his strength.

I see what you are saying, but Toma has been jawing about his ability out of the backfield. I think he was just given an opportunity. I am all for sportsmanship, but in the end the game is ruthless. It is what it is.

For many years ND has been lacking any semblance of killer instinct though. They need to learn(particularly Hendrix apparently and the other backups) that they need to come in and put the pedal down right away. It's great that they scored. I can't remember ND ever blowing someone out and the backups coming in and doing well against an inferior team. It doesn't happen but that's how you build reps and confidence. It has to be done. Hopefully Martin has an influence on Kelly in this regard this year.

No team in the nation with a defense as good as ND will ever play Navy.

The first time in at least ten seasons, the second team scored, (twice).
