Since Halloween is just 2 days away and a lot of scary movies have been on tv lately, what scary movie scared you the most when you were younger?

For me, The Strangers and Paranormal Activity 2 scared me the most. I think The Strangers scared me because that movie is actually very realistic.

Word on the street is that "Sinister" is the scariest movie of all time... Haven't seen it yet though. I actually got freaked out at "The Hills Have Eyes." Don't know why though. That movie, "The Descent," and "Wrong Turn," are all the same movie.

When I was a kid they all scared me, Amityville, Salem's Lot, Halloween, but probably the worst was My Bloody Valentine. Probably why I no longer watch "Horror Movies".

Hell Raiser scared the bejesus out of me when I was a little kid. I've always been a fan of the zombie films. I love the old Romero stuff, and the Walking Dead.

The Hills Have Eyes got you? I didn't think that movie was all that scary. I can't talk much though, Jurassic Park was a nightmare for me when I was little haha

I LOVE the first Halloween movie. I really wish I was a teenager during those years, I have no idea why either

The first Poltergeist film is the only horror movie that has ever given me the chills. AMAZING FILM. I love it.

I always thought Freddie and Jason and their ilk were funny. I knew that stuff wasn't real. It made me laugh, even at 4. Maybe I was just a weird kid...I dunno.

They used real skeletons in the scene where he's in the mud. Wicked.

To be honest I don't remember ever being scared from movies. Not trying to sound cool but my grandmother always loved horror movies and as far back as I can remember my brother and I would stay at her house every Friday night and watch "booger movies" as she called them. It's always been my favorite genre. My favorite horror movie of all time is the original "Dawn of the Dead." My brother and I would stay up late at night planning for zombies. The creepiest movie I can think of from my childhood was "When a Stranger Calls."

When Diane, the mother, is in the swimming pool those are the real skeletons. The only reason for that is because they were cheaper than making or purchasing prop ones!

The thing with sinister is its got suspense, mystery, pop-outs, but also the horror aspect. Most disturbing parts are the videos,(not trying to give it away), so all I'll say is that these show families dying in various ways. Overall a pretty good horror movie.

Candyman...if you've ever seen it you'll agree. My wicked old grandmother decided to let me watch it when I was younger and couldn't sleep for months

Never have been truly scared by a movie but Cabin In The Woods is a really fun horror flick. I have never been more disturbed by an ending of a film then in The Vanishing (the original).

The Cabin In The Woods was not my type of horror movie. I didn't like it at all

I like Children of the Corn for the creepiness factor, one of my favorites.

(don't kill me) the Blair Witch Project psychologically messed me up when I was younger.

Not sure if it's considered scary/horror, but The Birds is one of my favorite movies period. Creepiness factor again.

Also, the original Night of the Living Dead is spectacular. I had an art teacher in high school that would show this every Halloween, and would also show us a bunch of Hitchcock films (North by Northwest, Rope, The Birds). Pretty cool.

Indeed! Call me crazy but if I was put in that situation in real life with Michael Myers trying to kill me, I would actually enjoy it! I think it would be an adventure. As long as I don't die of course. Lol

best thing about the original halloween is the use of deep focus. where you just see michael in the back part of the frame. standing motionless. and then camera pans past him and back and he's gone. plus, that mask is terrifying and emotionless. the score is haunting with its odd meter time. its a wonderful scary movie.

The scene where he has the guy pinned up against the wall and he's just standing there silently looking at him. Simply chilling.

i love the shot towards the beginning, the girls are walking home from school. its still light out. and he's down the street by some bushes. then is gone when we see that bush again.

also, in the middle of the living room. its dark and the only thing you see is that mask in profile. *shudder*
