Lol. Sounds like we got a lot of Anti-American diplomats up in here.
Sounds like we got a lot of sore losers still bitching and whining every single day about anything and everything. If they spent half that time trying to understand why their side lost, they might not be staring down the barrel of continuing to lose for the foreseeable future.

So the word is that Zelensky called Vance a fucking bitch to his face in Ukranian during this exchange. Totally unacceptable under any circumstances, if true.

No wonder they kicked his ass out.
He apparently said it in...wait for it...Russian. his native tongue

I think Reddit is probably the echo chamber you’re looking for.

Regardless of anyone’s stance on Russian invasion; Ukraine was undeniably one of the most corrupt places in Europe. To their credit has improved some during wartime (maybe outside money coming in that doesn’t need to be grifted and bribed off the population). Ethics GTFO with that nonsense.
Right, let’s remonstrate Ukraine and stick up for the side composed of communist dictatorships that stated this war. When you can be on the side of Russia/North Korea/China, you just have to do it.

In the final year of President Joe Biden’s term, decisions on key shipments and weapons in Ukraine were stalled not just by months of congressional delays, but also by internal debates over escalation risks with Russia, as well as concerns over whether the U.S. stockpile was sufficient, a Reuters investigation found. Adding to the confusion was a chaotic weapons-tracking system in which even the definition of “delivered” differed among U.S. military branches.

I think Rubio pretty clearly states the position (multiple times). I thought he made some good points.

I do have one point of contention though. Rubio stated multiple times (in regards to Putin) you don't get him to the negotiating table by calling him names and throwing out accusations. I do wish the interviewer would've pushed back on that one by asking him, "Do you get Zelensky to the negotiating table by calling him names and throwing out accusations?" I would've loved to hear a response to that question.

You must be a recent college attendee. Sounds similar to my son's explanation of the political science professor he has.
Have you ever heard of the military industrial complex?

No matter what side of the isle these wars start or end under, war is a money making machine. It's all about money and killing young soldiers.
I haven't read or heard anyone in the Trump administration sticking up for Russia, CCP or NK.
Zelensky might be the greatest salesman in the history of war, but Adolph would like a word from a Portuguese grave.

1) If the US has to pony up the bill for every country that Russia invades, yes the US will go bankrupt before Russian soldiers reach our shores.

2) Russians always have and always will play the long game.

3) The irony may be lost on you and others that the previous CIA Director John Brennan admitted to voting for the communist party candidate for president in 1980.

Russia will run out of money and men way faster than us. Beauty of a proxy war.

Will they? Isn’t China filling those financial gaps? And when you say “us” you suggesting the US start sending US soldiers?

No I’m suggesting Russia is losing an entire generation of men and we haven’t had to spill a drop of American blood. Want to talk about America first? Seems like fantastic ROI.

Russia will not run out of men faster than “us”. Unless you are suggesting we should send our forces to Ukraine to fight.

Ukraine is running out of men to fight and Russia has a much larger population pool to continue the meat grinder.

Do you understand his post? He is saying it is a proxy war and there is no US loses other than the US veterans who volunteered to fight for Ukraine's freedom.

How many men have we lost so far?

I can see valid arguments for pushing hard for a peace settlement.

I can see valid arguments for increasing involvement to defeat Putin even if that means increasing the chance of causing a broader war.

I can NOT see any valid argument to continue the proxy war at its current level of involvement. This will only lead to more Ukrainians dying and Russia slowly gaining more land and the US wasting a crap load of money. Ukraine will eventually run out of men before Russia.

Pick one of the first two and proceed decisively.

Is that the only option in war? The country with more soldiers wins? Then why in the world did Russia lose in Afghanistan if their soldiers are 100% expendable? Certainly they had a greater population than the Afghans. Yes, I get they are potentially brainwashed that losing to Ukraine is not an option, but one has to imagine there are other ways to win than to simply be the last man standing. If Russia loses 1 million men, you think there is 0% chance they revolt? 0% chance Putin realizes he is not wanted in Ukraine and he will face guerrilla war forever? 0% chance someone gets fed up and assassinates Putin? 0% chance the Russian soldier grow weary and quit? I'm sure there are other scenarios in which Ukraine can be successful from continued fighting.

Are you suggesting that Putin’s commitment to winning a war to restore part of the Soviet empire is the same a commitment to winning a war in Afghanistan?

I'm suggesting it might not matter. There are potentially infinite variables and scenarios. I said what if hundreds of thousands die and soldiers become weary of killing their Ukrainian brothers? What if someone assasinates Putin? What if Putin just dies? What if the population goes full Vietnam protest? Are the Russian soldiers really just Orcs that operate as piles of flesh to be blown to pieces inside a tank? I thought that was a just a derogatory insult.
I'm sure you can think of plenty of creative scenarios.
It's really fucking tough to invade a country when you are not wanted. It is not a 1:1 scenario. I was sure Russia was going to occupy Kiev in days(3 years ago), didn't you?

It feels like the right wants Ukraine to lose just to prove the left wrong, honestly. Probably is intermixed with the Hunter Biden/Burisma situation. Since when did people give a flying fuck about needing to tell Ukrainians not to fight like they are some sort of mindless children that you need to protect from themselves?

Ok. In theory there could be an option of maintaining the status quo. I’m assuming that military intelligence would provide their best estimates of the probability of any of those things happening.

How high would the collective probability have to be where you could legitimately consider the status quo as a viable option?

I guess my response would be who cares. Russia has proved they are as worthy as Mike Tyson in the ring. If we want to gloat of proxy war like it’s a US victory lap, How many people has China lost?
