They would have to be setting some type of record for playing in the biggest variance in time zones in a single season. Start season traveling 6 times zones to the east and end it traveling 6 time zones to the west.

Couldn't imagine anything worse for the players... Isn't conference championship week usually during ND finals? They're already going to be dealing with a new school year starting while they travel to Ireland for a game and a ridiculously difficult schedule, don't see why we'd add another long trip during the busiest time of year to their schedule.

That being said, there are worse places to play...

Interesting. In principle, I hate playing more games than needed. This sport is all about not risking an "L." And it's not going to help us in a recruiting hot bed.

But Hawaii is a semi-safe game and a nice thing for Manti so I guess we'll just wait and see what happens... games against 5 top 25 teams... 9 bowl teams... and trips across the Atlantic and Pacific. Crazy year.

I can confirm this from talking to couple of players on the squad. At a new years' eve party. Rumor at least from them was, it was done to solidify Manti's return. Good to see Notre Dame reaching out to players. I obviously can't reveal who these players were. Both player's i talked to also said that they love coach Kelly(they were charlie recruits) and that they believe Golson will be the starter next year.

Not to start a war, but just as long as it's NOT Rees. Damn, they have to improve QB play to be successful. I said it before, I honestly don't think I can go thru another year where Rees is the Irish full-time starter!

I don't think i would completely rule out Hendrix. I agree with you going through another year would be to much to handle. Tommy is a great kid and i wish him the best. it's just time to move on.

We use to stay at the Turtle Bay Hilton (Where the movie Forgetting Sarah Marshall was filmed Forgetting Sarah Marshall - Official Trailer - YouTube). It is very very difficult to stay focused ....to say the least. I remember sitting on the beach studying for a Calc exam while my friends were jacking around.

Bottom line- seems like a trap game. I don't like it.

He's not kidding...if you are in a conference with a championship game...you can, in theory, play 14 games and add a bowl game to make it 15 if Hawaii is on your schedule.

I'm all for it. Should be a relatively safe win, and that helps with bowl placement and ranking. Plus, any game adds exposure, and the hawaiian islands have produced some major talent. Not to mention this would probably be broadcast on the west coast if not more.
