Sad news. Academy award winning actor Robert Duvall passed away yesterday at the age of 95. From Boo Radley in To Kill A Mockingbird to The Godfather, Lonesome Dove, MASH, True Grit, Apocalypse Now, and Falling Down, just to name a few. One of the alltime greatest actors with an extraordinary career.
Sorry, the list of actors still living from the original Twilight Zone used to be fun and long. Now the only one I can name is Carol Burnett.

Should be no surprise but Robert Duvall playing a young guy it looked exactly like he always does.

Shatner was in an episode and is still alive. I didn't know Burnett was ever in an episode.

Billy Steinberg passed away from cancer. If you don't recognize the name, you will recognize songs he penned with chart toppers throughout the 80's and 90's. Wrote songs recorded by Madonna, Cyndi Lauper, The Bangles, The Pretenders, Whitney Houston and more.

I’d forgotten there was an earlier version of True Grit. The 2010 version is a fine movie.

He was in two episodes. Most remember him for the episode in the plane, but his first time was in an episode where he became obsessed with a fortune telling machine. Twilight Zone has a long list of recognizable actors that appeared in The Twilight Zone.

I remember that World Series. Pirates beat my Yankees 4-3. Maz had the game 7 winner. All four Pirate wins were close. The Yankees three wins were by 10+ runs. Crazy series. RIP Bill.

Holy smokes, didn't know he was still alive. I didn't realize he was only 24 when he hit that homer. I'm always taken aback when I hear of people who participated in what seems like ancient history are still around. God rest his soul, seemed like a good man.

Sad news about actor Robert Carradine. He committed suicide yesterday at the age of 71 after struggling for years with bipolar disorder. Carradine had a long acting career and was probably best known for Revenge Of The Nerds and Lizzie McGuire. He was the younger brother of actors Keith Carradine and the late David Carradine, who starred as Caine in the 70s show Kung Fu.

A memorable role he had, at least for me, was a small guest appearance on ER. He and ER star Anthony Edwards had done Revenge Of The Nerds together, so Edwards had him on his hit show for an episode where he played an escaped psych ward patient posing as a doctor who was developing a new way of running emergency facilities. He spent the entire episode following the doctors and nurses around observing them, advising them on better ways to interact, manage patient flow, and etc. Funny bit.

Man, sad ending. Mental illness is a bitch. As a kid, one of the most violent movies I ever watched was “The Long Riders”. It was a western based on the James Gang. It featured three sets of brothers. Stacy & James Keach played the James Brothers. Then it included the Carradine & Quaid brothers. May have been one of the earliest westerns to earn an R rating. RIP.
