Man, sad ending. Mental illness is a bitch. As a kid, one of the most violent movies I ever watched was “The Long Riders”. It was a western based on the James Gang. It featured three sets of brothers. Stacy & James Keach played the James Brothers. Then it included the Carradine & Quaid brothers. May have been one of the earliest westerns to earn an R rating. RIP.

Wasn’t he in the movie the Cowboys with John Wayne?
Yes, I did a double take reading the credits. Apparently he was in 18 year old playing a 14 year old character?

Roscoe Brown stole every scene.

Walter Hill directed that and you can definitely see the Sam Peckinpah influence on him, especially in that brutal final shoot-out. It also featured the Guest brothers, Christopher & Nicholas playing the Ford brothers. It is interesting looking back seeing Dennis Quaid in a relatively small role playing a total heel and he wound up being the biggest star out of the whole cast.

Sad news about actor Robert Carradine. He committed suicide yesterday at the age of 71 after struggling for years with bipolar disorder. Carradine had a long acting career and was probably best known for Revenge Of The Nerds and Lizzie McGuire. He was the younger brother of actors Keith Carradine and the late David Carradine, who starred as Caine in the 70s show Kung Fu.

I also didn't know he was the brother of David. Didn't David also die by suicide?

Neil Sedaka died Friday at the age of 86. He was a song writing legend from the era of American pop that bridged the gap between Chuck Berry, Little Richard, and Buddy Holly, but before the rise of The Beach Boys and the British Invasion. From '59 through '62 he had a string of 10 top 10 hits such as “Breaking Up Is Hard to Do,” “Calendar Girl,” and "Happy Birthday Sweet Sixteen." The British Invasion pushed his type of sweet innocent teen love songs off the chart, but he had a big career revival in the '70s with “Laughter In The Rain,” and The Captain & Tennille’s cover of Sedaka’s “Love Will Keep Us Together”

Neil was awesome and just a great underrated representative of his industry. Seemed to have joy in what he did. 86 is not bad but still gone too soon. One of the good guys given second chance at success thanks to Elton John.
