How is a name like that any different than a name like Quinn or Franklin? It's not for attention. It's a name. That's also a rare name I've never heard of. The names used in the studies were the most popular black names in the late 70s such as Tyrone and stuff like that. I'll try to find the report I read.

I just made that name up off the top of my head as a variation of the word unique. The difference is that Tyrone is a real name. Again i do not know the exact study you first referenced but in that study where the names as simple as Tyrone?

The distinction i am making is between legitimate cultural names like Tyrone, Jamal, or Jerome and modern names that seem to come from parents grabbing tiles out of a scrabble bag. Jamal is a legitimate cultural name, Koolaidria is a name made up on the spot to try and make an individual child unique.

Traditional african american names should not be discriminated against, but you cant honestly say you don't understand why someone might look twice at the name Cornbreesha.

Go to indystar.com and search for Perry Renn. He was killed by a black drug dealer/user. Read all the articles of support for IMPD and Renn's family from that black neighborhood. Things are far from perfect, but they're improving.
